The circumstances and thoughts are quite different, but in both cases I think we find comfort in being a more 'active' participant in the listening process, especially in something that moves us so... In any case, thanks, Patty and friends... - -----Messaggio originale----- Da: Femboty2k@aol.com A: mad-mission@smoe.org ; jpaquin@origin.ea.com Data: Saturday, September 25, 1999 6:52 AM Oggetto: MM: Sirens >I know where they came from.......... > >While in the ambulance, on the way to the hospital to undergo oral surgery on >her vocal cords, for the first time, is where she recorded the song. > >How bout that! > >Just kidding, >Tina >aka: "That Loud Girl" p.s. Since I have moved to NYC (three weeks ago) I have gotten to see Shery Crow and friends (including Eric Clapton, Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, Crissy Hinde, Dixie Chicks, and others) in Central Park from the FRONT ROW for FREE and now this! Patty Griffin at 54th--wow, I love this city! I just wanted to say, if anyone else in this city happens to get two tickets and doesn't use one...I really want to go and If I get two tickets, I might not be using the other one and would be willing to give it to someone else. Does this sound good to anyone? I hope we ALL get to go but it seems like they only have a limited number of tickets so who knows... e-mail me privately if you are interested. Minter" Subject: MM: sessions tonight-NPC Hey all, I just found out from the Tori list that there will be a "Best of Sessions" episode tonight on PBS. Some of the featured artists are Tori Amos (of course), Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, Natalie Merchant, P.J. Harvey (this woman kicks butt!), and Lou Reed. I think that Sessions usually comes on at 10 or 11p.m. and it is an hour-long show. If any of you have never watched Sessions, this episode should give you an idea of what kind of setting Patty will be playing in.
