I am not doing well at it. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Apr 1999 11:21:05 -0400 From: Katie Subject: MM: Re: Peter Pan chords yes - i have it figured out. i don't have my guitar out in front of me right now, so this may not be exact. but if you want a better transcription (i can write out what stings to pick), you can e-mail me later. the verse is basically C and then to F. you repeat this. the chorus is G, F, G, F and then back to the verse. i hope that helps you! katie ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Apr 1999 16:18:32 EDT From: UMCaner74@aol.com Subject: MM: aaaAAAhhhHHH!!! PATTY!! Hi guys..just me again.. Ok, so I'm now DONE with my little "Patty tour" of seeing her 3 times in 4 nights..and I have just ONE thing to say...I WANT MORE!!! Ok..so I got home last night a little after 1am, and had to be at work at 6:30am. All I heard ALL DAY at work was Patty's voice echoing through my head..NOT a bad feeling. Maybe you all remember a post I had awhile ago saying how I discovered (much to my surprise) that maybe I didn't know as much about Patty as I thought I did..I had realized that I didn't know her middle name. Well, Last night I found out. In between songs, Sharyn..another MM member asked Patty how her cold was. After responding with a "much better, thank you" She asked how Sharyn knew about her cold..and Sharyn OF COURSE said "I'm on the Mad Mission List" Patty's like.."oh, I thought..you guys know EVERYTHING about me.." so then I pipe in with a .."We just need to know your middle name"..Patty responds with.."I can tell you that..my name is Patty Jean" YAY!! I now FINALLY know! She followed that up with saying that Troy is from the hills if Eastern Kentucky, and he just calls her Patty Jean..and he's ALLOWED to call her that because of where he's from. Ok..one other thing. I mentioned to her about the Pattystock thing that all of us were talking about. She seemed genuinely interested and seemed like she loved the idea of such a thing. Sharyn mentioned how the management said it was a DEFINITE NO GO..and she was like..oh really?? Hmm..that's weird. She seemed very surprised by the fact that the management would turn down something like that, and she seemed like she really had no idea that the subject had ever been brought up. She did think though, that it would be pretty cool if all the MM members just kind of crashed a show somewhere..:-) Maybe we could just do a "fake kidnapping" and steal her for a weekend without the knowledge of her management??? Hmm...:-) Anyway..some songs that really stood out last night.. I'm really starting to LOVE this Smith's song Moses Nobody's Crying!! One More Girl Forgiveness Mary and of course..Sweet Lorraine.. OK..enough already..hope you're all having a great weekend!! Take care. Dave ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Apr 1999 16:30:37 EDT From: Flakeybird@aol.com Subject: MM: Highlights of Friday Philly Show Sharyn here. Met up with Dave Goodyear from the list who I've met once before, Thank God, so I knew he wasn't a serial killer, albeit, a self-proclaimed Patty stalker. Anyway, horrendous drive down to Philly (from North Jersey). Had delicious cheeseburger. Then the opening act. God bless Craig for getting up on stage, but I listened to 45 minutes of what seemed to be the same song. anyway, Patty -- announced that she had an addiction to laptop solitaire and broke into the blues version of Flaming Red. She had a silver sleevless number on. Her hair looked brown from my position which was 3rd row center. And black suede go-go boots. Dave, I'm sure will fill you in on the set list. That's Smith's song she does is great and has always been my favorite Smith's song. The Dylan song she sings is wonderful too -- that was one of my favorites. she does an original about being "just another singer stuffed into some jeans and we don't know what love is cause we don't know what it means." I really liked that one. Hope she records it. Anyway, I asked how her cold was and she said it was much better and seemed fascinated that someone would know this about her. She asked if I had been there two nights ago -- said I was on the MM list. She replied, "you people know everything." Perfect opportunity for Dave to ask her middle name. (I'm sure he has told you all already, but I get the digest version, so I won't get to read it till tonight.) Upon meeting her, I was overly friendly I think, acting like I have known her for years. (Picture Bette Middler meeting her). This may have freaked her out a bit. Interesting tidbits -- She DID have some vocal training. A year's worth. She didn't know about Pattystock and was suprised at management's reaction to it. We also had a small conversation about cold remedies. She lovingly signed both CDs although I didn't want to take up to much of her time and asked which one she wanted to sign. Overall she seems very amused at this process of becoming famous. Final note -- someone besides me please encourage Dave Goodyear to pick up his guitar on a daily basis. He needs to perform for his own sanity. Thanks for the photo of Patty and me, Dave. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Apr 1999 17:51:38 -0500 From: "James P" Subject: MM: meet and greet with Patty Hey all, The concert in Philly sounds like it was wonderful. Is Patty doing official meet and greets or are y'all hanging out late after the show? -Cristina ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Apr 1999 19:09:46 EDT From: Remy457@aol.com Subject: MM: Patty at Clutch Cargo Hello all! I have a few questions. I've never seen Patty in concert before and I know she is coming to Clutch Cargos in Pontiac Ml on 5/15. Does anyone know if tickets are still available? Also I'm in a wheelchair and does anyone know how accesable the place is, I've never been there. I called, but I just got a recording. Thanks, STEVE ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Apr 1999 23:38:18 -0400 From: Greg Subject: MM: Friday's Show - Painted Bride Hey there, I just got on the list. It seems like you guys all know each other. Do you ever meet up at shows & actually see each other in person? Reading some of the other posts, I recognize the events but didn't pay attention to who was making the comments. It's pretty cool that people are this interested in a performer. The future Dead Heads of America? (no disrespect intended) Anyway ... the Friday show was great. It was the first time I've seen her & after the opener, I was a little nervous about the quality of the mix. Needless to say Patty sounded fine. She seems very personable although I didn't stick around to chat with her ( and apparently some of the rest of you). She played many songs from the Flaming Red CD. She didn't play Every Little Bit which disappointed me, but her final number was fantastic and almost made up for it. Poor Man's House was a highlight for me as well as Tony. Is anybody going to the Sea Bright or DC show? Carpool from Philly possibly? ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V3 #115 *********************************
