I keep hearing Change on the radio(90.1 San Antonio) you were all right, I have been on the list since before it was active and I am still weary of a plugged in Patty, surprsing because I am one of the most open minded music persona's I know, but I was just used to her acoustic. But it rocks. Yeah, well. Now I've got three freaking jobs so it's like this: I sit and rummage through 156 posts once a week and go batty. Now we get to the part where I respond to bunches of posts... The now defunct Chicago Concert idea*** hell, yeah, baybees!! Ida gone! Back to my sweet home chicago (haven't been back in ages) to see a private showing of Patty Griffin sounds ravashing! I would be honored to trash, er...I mean get together and listen to Ms. Griffin. It could be like a raging kegger, er..uh, I mean social gathering, with extremely mad music. If I had one question to ask patty Griffin**** That's easy. "Excuse me, Ms. Griffin. Would you care for a free 7- UP?" Hell, that's what I asked Ziggy Marley in Panama City last year. Of course, come to think of it, I WAS actually giving away 7- UP's (dig this..I was hired as a model to walk around the beach and give away the new taste of 7-UP to all the lovely bikini clad spring breakers......I got PAID. but I'm digressing.) But that's me. I usually ask famous (important or otherwise) people just casually dumb questions. Not because I'm overtaken with nervousness, but because I don't wanna ask questions they here over and over and over....or try to sound funky smart or something. Or I ask questions pertinent to an interview if I'm taping or ushering these people around. Hmmmm. So I guess I don't really know what I'm stating here. Damn, this thought started off so simple in that all I'd ask someone is if they wanted a 7-UP. Now look at this.. two whole paragraphs. Time for the next topic.... Sharyn's questions about the words at the end of "Let's Go Now"*** I found out by some astute postees on this list that she's saying, "Oh man, that organ kills me." And to be honest, that is some phat organ sounds. (although, for the longest time I could swear by a three dollar whore that she was saying, "oh man, that f**kin kills me.") (I was bummed a for a bit cuz I thought she didn't like singing that song; I know better know.) ;) Letterman / O'Brien thing***** Awesome! Tubular! Wasted! It's about time, damnit! Hey, is Max Weinberg on a leave or is he there? I thought I saw footage of him playing in Europe (could have been older footage) with someone popular...uh, Shania Twain? I can't remember. Shawnte wanted to know about Nancy Griffith******* NOT PG!!! Yes, she is brilliant. And cute, and Irish. Gawd I love when she sounds Irish. Hey, if I don't marry Sheryl Crow, then any Irish woman will do. how can anyone fight with a woman who talks with such a sweet accent? But anyway, not to stray too far from my point (too late) I'll agree that Flyer is the way to go. AB FAB! beauty! I've got another CD too, I think the name of it is like "moon over blue roses," or blue moon red roses," or something to that effect. let me level with you here, it's not nearly as great as Flyer. I like it, truly I do. But I think she was trying too hard to sound country, and artificially "twanging it" a bit too much. But her voice is butter and just melts on your toast. I saw her on Austin City Limits (yeah I'm still one of those lame-O PBS watchers) and man she makes me go silent all the way. Regarding Managers**** I'm not going to even "go there" with the manager and all. I know a few good managers, and I know a few bad ones. But I do know one thing. Managers want to make money. Maybe what's best for their clients, maybe not. I'm not too keen on that "crunch time" thing. He just prob felt that it wasn't worth his time, or client. So I would agree that it was a bunch of BS. That whole manager-concept is baffling. Here's a guy that wants Patty Griffin to succeed, become famous and rich. Why? because he'll become famous and rich. BUT (that was a big but, couldja tell?) The more famous and rich his client becomes, the more difficult his work becomes and the more hair he's gonna pull out his nostrils. Go figure. Hey it's time. I'm anklin'. Elvis is king! Oh, did anyone see last week's Rainforest episode of SouthPark? That was so funny I almost had to throw-up! :P peace, love, and vegetable rights. paul ********************************* * Damn, woman.
