According to her management, Patty has been working on a song for the upcoming Susan Sarandon movie "Anywhere But Here." I'm not at all sure what the release date is for the movie (don't have a clue actually). The song is called "Twisted Road" and it looks like it might be part of a soundtrack CD for the movie that will be released by Atlantic. Also, the "tentative" West Virginia concert date has been confirmed. She will be appearing at the Mountain Stage Radio Show on April 25th in Huntington WV (I previously posted this gig to be in Charleston). I have gotten a private email that Patty's gig (opening for Lucinda Williams) in Detroit on 5/14 has been listed by TicketMonster as being at Clutch Cargos' in Pontiac MI, but I have not yet gotten confirmation on that from her management. The private email also mentioned this Pontiac show would be an all-ages show.....but again I have no confirmation on that either....just passing along the info I received from a fan of Patty's. Nor have I gotten confirmation on the venue for the two Nashville gigs on 5/18 & 5/19, but it seems likely to me that the posts to MM@smoe mentioning they would be at the 328 Performance Hall are most probably correct. (I am sure Misty already has tix if this is correct :-) Mike :-) - - * The Patty Griffin/Mad-Mission@smoe List Homepage is at: * http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup/pattyg/pattyg.htm * * Rachel Martin's Patty Griffin Lyrics Archive is at * http://www.geocities.com/Wellesley/3079/patty.html * * Jerry Zigmont's Flaming Red - A Patty Griffin Website is at * http://members.tripod.com/PattyGriffin * * Katie Peterson's Patty Griffin Guitar Tabs Archive is at * http://members.tripod.com/~Lifey/patty.html * * DuckOfPrey or WhyADuck55 on AOL and/or AOL Instant Messenger ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 4 Apr 1999 16:03:29 -0500 From: "James P" Subject: MM: Re: Patty song on new movie soundtrack CD! (?) Toriphiles have been tracking the progress of that movie for months. Now I have another reason to buy the soundtrack! There is more info about the movie on the awesome Tori Amos site: tori.by.net because she is also contributing a song to the soundtrack. I think it's going to be released sometime this month, but it may be pushed back. Tori AND Patty on the same CD...I guess all my mantras and telepathic energy finally paid off!!!! -Cristina - -----Original Message----- From: Mike Connell To: mad-mission@smoe.org Date: Sunday, April 04, 1999 1:59 PM Subject: MM: Patty song on new movie soundtrack CD! (?) Can anyone provide more info on the 5/8 show at Tradewinds in NJ. The phone number provided on this list is not valid and ticketmaster has no info. Thank you, Troy Deckebach PS As a former Michigander I can offer that the change to Clutch Cargos is no surprise. A much more appropriate venue for this show. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 04 Apr 1999 18:59:30 -0500 From: Dana Mitkowski <"mitkowski.michael@snet.net"@snet.net> Subject: MM: Rarities I have a second generation Rarities tape from Jen and would be willing to make copies for people who send me tapes and postage- If the Maxell XL11 high bias 100 min tape, bubble envelope {I can reuse the one you send it to me in} and return postage are sent to me, no money need exchange hands. However, I have none of the set lists. Jen did a beautiful job of creating the set list complete with photos. I would be willing to be a branch of the tree if it gets set up again. The tape is great- most of the songs are not from the albums- Jen did a wonderful job- I have only one song of Patty's not on that tape- "Even Here" from the Sedona,AZ '98 concert. Search ticketmaster for Lucinda Williams. I emailed tradewinds & they confirmed that Patty is opening for Lucinda.
