However, did you know the company started by giving away free > stock based on a referal program?!!!! According to the company, they are only > doing this for the first one million subscribers. Now, they might already be past one million registered...but if not...hey, it's $10. So please sign up with my number :) Use the $10 towards Patty tickets! And if I make enough (ok, they only let you sign up 50 people per person...or $500) then maybe I can pay Patty to play here at Swarthmore College! (fingers crossed...knocking on wood...) take care y'all...and have a free smile tonight on me whether or not you sign up for this crazy thing! (but hey, at least go to the website to PROVE to yourself that these people are really doing this and I'm not part of some slimy pyramid scheme!) te quiero mucho, Josh'schwa'Tropp ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 20:20:32 -0800 From: "Victoria Chenevey" Subject: MM: Re: NPC. b/c I love you oh please spare us ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 23:47:16 -0500 (EST) From: "Josh 'schwa' Tropp" Subject: MM: NPC: "Please spare us?" "please spare us"? people send a million "npc" messages to this list...and some without the courtesy of writing NPC in the heading... People send jokes and chain letters...I thought I'd send this...if for nothing more than the novelty of the fact that it's something real...not one of these "Bill Gates is giving $100 to everyone who responds" or "win a free cruise up my ass" or "save billy whose dying of an infected hangnail in central Nebraska." I was honestly taken aback by the fact that companies do this sort of thing...and I thought the people on this list might be, too. I'd rather 10 people just go to the site and see that this phenomenon of the-future-is-now is real than have 100 people go because they want $10 and I get another share of stock. I thought it was neat. Next time I'll spare you. Please excuse me for wasting space on your harddrive/server/graymatter. Patty rocks. I guess everything else is horseshit. Again, another free smile on me...looks like you need a "spare" - --J'schwa' ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 21:01:20 PST From: "Paul Russell" Subject: MM: very small rocks This list is so bee-ee-ay-ewe-tee-why-full! I think I enojoyed Judy's recent post the best. I think I can speak for us all when I say that I speak for myself of course, but that's how I feel. What are we trying to say, anyway? And how relative is it to our cosmic position in this universe on this crazy wheel of life? (Things that make you go, hmmmm.) I also wanted to say that, whyle I'm searching for the other half of my brain, I was thinking about actually seeing the Exhalted One in RoundRock, TX, cuz like from all the recent dates listed...that's the closest one. But you know, I don't know. It would be like 10 hours. Is a 10 hour drive (not to mention ditching work...like the pinko-commie bong-smoking hippie I am...yeah right)worth seeing Patty Griffin? Is it? I know her concerts have all been described as the next coming of christ, albeit a bit loud...but should I really drive from FLA to TX just to here her live? And ditching work? I've never done that; call me old fashioned (hell I guess call me stupid) but I've always felt that if they hired me, I should work. It sounds like I'm in a bit of a dither, here. I looked up RoundRock in my Rand-McNally and that's like max far, not to mention it was on the crease so the distance could be distorted by miles. And here's another question...will my TEMPO-rary car make it? But back to the Grammy stuff...hee hee hee :P It would be really cool if I won a grammy. I hear those MoFo's are heavy. I'd show it off to all my friends and say, "hah, I got a grammy. Where's yours? Oh that's right you don't got no talent, sucker! You're hella lame and I kick hella ass!" Or maybe I wouldn't. :) Love ya, mean it. (oh, and for the record...I still like the slutty look.) peace, love, and vegetable rights! paul **************************** * If it's tourist season, * * why can't we shoot * * them? * * --Steven Wright * **************************** Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 21:35:13 -0800 (PST) From: Wendy J Subject: Re: MM: NPC: "Please spare us?" loser, you weren't doing US any favors...you were trying to make a buck. and while i can't blame you for that, this here is a PATTY GRIFFIN list serv, so unless you're peddaling back stage passes or stock in patty's future earnings, please: DO SPARE US. mucho gracias, 'schmuck! - --- Josh 'schwa' Tropp wrote: > "please spare us"? > > people send a million "npc" messages to this > list...and some without the > courtesy of writing NPC in the heading... > > People send jokes and chain letters...I thought I'd > send this...if for > nothing more than the novelty of the fact that it's > something real...not > one of these "Bill Gates is giving $100 to everyone > who responds" or "win a > free cruise up my ass" or "save billy whose dying of > an infected hangnail > in central Nebraska." > > I was honestly taken aback by the fact that companies > do this sort of > thing...and I thought the people on this list might > be, too. > > I'd rather 10 people just go to the site and see that > this phenomenon of > the-future-is-now is real than have 100 people go > because they want $10 and > I get another share of stock. > > I thought it was neat. > > Next time I'll spare you. > > Please excuse me for wasting space on your > harddrive/server/graymatter. > > Patty rocks. > I guess everything else is horseshit. > > Again, another free smile on me...looks like you need > a "spare" > > > --J'schwa' > > > _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
