Mike swears he doesn't havew a personal vendetta against me, but I'm just not too sure ;). So here's for some slightly comic relief. As I said once before, my Patty lyrics site has a page where you can submit lyrics to her songs that I don't have up there. Lately, I've been getting a rash of 17 year olds sending me the lyrics to their OWN songs. I checked the page, and it's true- the page itself says nothing specifically about them being Patty lyrics. But since the only way you can get to that page through my site is by clicking "Know some Patty Griffin lyrics that I don't?", it's really making me wonder. Does the page pop up somehow on Yahoo ? Well, no, it wouldn't on Yahoo, but maybe on one of those search engines which goes through everything on your site and picks how it wants to be identified. Very amusing, and also frustrating, because I keep thinking I'm gonna find these new songs I don't have listed, but nooo. And the songs they're submitting are BAD, too :). Was "Flaming Red" eligible for a Grammy Award this year? That is, the awards that just were broadcast in February? The rules are so arcane, I can never remember how it works. Sometimes songs are nominated that were released years before. By the way, can you BELIEVE some of the crap that won?!! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Mar 1999 15:26:16 EST From: CornflkGl@aol.com Subject: MM: The Patty Lyrics Archive Ok, it's time for my bimonthly lyrics drive once again.... First I'd like to announce the lyrics archive has gotten almost 9,000 hits in less than a year. Really ! That just kicks ass ! I'm hoping to hit 10,000 by the archive's first birthday on April 15th. Hint, hint ;). Below is a list of all the songs currently in the archive. I'm asking y'all to PLEASE look through the list and see if you know the words to any Patty songs (or covers) that aren't on here. I know I'm missing a bunch. I also know that people sent me lyrics for a couple of songs I don't have up there. My problem is I can only edit the web page from home (since my computer at school sucks big time), and a lot of lyrics get lost in the transition. I can think of one right off the top of my head that I don't have.... Little Buddha. Come on, people, get cracking :). If I had recording equipment this would be a lot easier, but as it is I can't make dubs so I can't get copies of lots of tapes, and with the new songs, you can only get those lyrics on the tapes. That is.... unless someone is a speed writer and actually gets all the words down during a concert. Heh.... yeah right. OR if someone knows the song and takes the time to type it out for me. Please please PLEASE.... I know she has more songs ! *phew* List is below.
