Ok ya'll I have to share this because it makes me mad. There is a page where I go for most song lyrics. They have song lyrics for albums, singles, and unreleased songs even. This place has all the dar lyrics, all ani lyrics, tori amos, I mean they have just about everything. I wanted to know the exact wording from Ani's "willing to fight" yesterday and went to this place as I always do and found that IT HAD BEEN SHUT DOWN! just like all the guitar tab sites! This happened on the 21st. Their site reads: - ---- This server is temporarily shut down. Our servers have been confiscated by the police. The NMPA has brought suit against us. After a meeting with the CEO of NMPA/HFA on January, 26th in France, there seems to be hope to get back online soon. But as long as no contracts are signed the court case is still pending. Read more on Wired.com: http://www.wired.com/news/news/culture/story/17499.html Find more articles in our News section: http://www.lyrics.ch/new.html We will restore the most parts of this site within the next days. You can help us by keeping your links up and informing your friends and the press about our problem. Please sign this petition to support us: http://www.radiorequests.com/petition/index.html - ---- The stated reason that this site has been shut down? They have banners which earn them money, so inadverntantly they are making a profit on copyrighted lyrics. What does this mean for us? I have a website, and on my website I do have some lyrics, guitar tabs, etc. So this means because I have a link to cdnow's cosmic credit, I could lose my page!! Of course it may never come to that for small sites, but you never know! Please sign this petition! Thanks! Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Jan 1999 19:00:19 PST From: "Paul Russell" Subject: MM: dung beetles like dung Hey y'all! don't mind me. Nothing to see here. ;) I think that's great news!!! (i.e., Ms. Griffin's music is played over the air, in the air. Some airlines just kick major booty.) Go planes go!!! whoo hoo!!! woof woof woof!! :P I think it's also fabulous that Ms. Griffin's music is being played on major TV shows like "Party of Five." She's so awesome she needs to be played on shows like that to give it taste. (ha ha ha). It just baffles me that someone would actually record that show for future watchings. :P However, I don't watch TV, I just make it; so before I get flamed for making fun of "Party of Five" I just want to say it might be the next MASH for all I know, but in fact I don't know cuz I don't watch it. So, YES! I'm an ignoramus! I'm a neo-maxi-zoom-dweeby. So, with that out of the way (some people can get offended ifn' ya say the wrong thing.) ;) I was just thinking two days ago (yup. that's the last time I thought) and it came to me. Like a vision. Burnt across the clouds! It said "Patty Griffin should do a techno-rave album" You know, mix some of her songs into a way cool club mix with a driving beat. I would snatch up that album and trance away in my apartment. I mean drinking Guinness and listening to Ms. Griffin is great; but couldja imagine drinking LOTS of Guinness with a tubular techno trance mix of "Christina" or "One Big Love" or others? Or maybe she should leave those alone and write some new ones for the mix. hmmmm. don't know, but just a thought. If Patty Griffin comes down here, I'll give her an interview for my TV show no doubt. I just realized that I can interview bands and put them on TV, duh! I'm like slapping myself for not trying to interview Page-Plant when they came down in the fall. What was I thinking? But this is getting off topic. I'm showing my stupidity, but I felt like Emeril was going "BAM" in my face for not thinking about this sooner. (ok, I do watch a couple of programs on TV, but I mostly watch PBS cuz it's the most interesting. That and SouthPark, and MST3K.) Damn, I really need to quit rambling. I heartily apologize for getting off the Patty Griffin subject, and try better next time. bye! peace, love, and vegetable rights forever!!! paul *************************************************** * You can fight a porcupine and win, but if * * other folks get a look at you they may think * * it's a bad idea to mess with porcupines. * * --Neal Knox * *************************************************** ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Jan 1999 00:32:20 EST From: Dome93@aol.com Subject: MM: More than a bat loves a belfry Perhaps I've missed it in recent mm writings- what's Patty's play time been on this Lucinda outing?
