I would just like to say that even though I did feel that Iodine was quite loud in Austin, as I stated repeatedly, I do plan to at the very least, LISTEN to their album soon. After that I will definitely puchase it, if this feeling I have that it is going to sound like 100% rock and roll and really rock at home carries through. And I'd just like to tell everyone that they all should go on over to www.liveconcerts.com and check out that Patty set and interview that there have been posts about...I think that radio performance was really nice and worth the effort to sit 36 minutes and listen. So, go and check it out...It is under the radio station part of www.liveconcerts.com. The lineup for the annual KGSR anniversary/x-mas party has been posted. The station is hosting Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, and some other guy who is famous but who I can't remember cause I don't care about him....I think he is a piano player but it is not Marc Cohn or Steve Winwood, I don't think...some other dude... This all takes place on DEC 4th, Friday night. However, I think you may have to WIN tickets. I am not sure yet. If anyone knows, please send me a letter so I can keep all the Central Texans who are interested updated. What a great show!!!!! Patty AND Lucinda....Oh, I'm in heaven..... I'm not going to yell at you. I don't care what people say on here. Even if it is Non-Patty related. Like John said, it gets us to know one another better, and it brings us all closer together. In my opinion that's a good thing. From what I hear Mary is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I saw her live before and I hope you also get the opportunity. She's really a great performer!! Where are you from, and did she say if she's going to be coming down there or not?? Just interested. Take Care. Honestly, all the things I complain about. Here's my newest one... IMHO, we've been having way too many multiple reply postings lately. People have been posting 4 or 5 posts at once, which doesn't seem like a lot, but if you do the math, and you multiply those 5 posts by the (more than) 200 loose mail subscribers of this list, smoe is sending out 1,000+ letters for your 5. not only does this take up lots of space and time, it's also unnecessary (just like posting whole quotes of letters for one sentence replies). May I make a suggestion ? As you're reading your mail, if you come across a mail you'd like to reply to the list about, keep that mail window open and continue reading on. When you're done reading all your MM mail, you may have just one post, or a whole pile of posts to reply to. Cut and paste the parts you want to reply to, and reply away. Change the subject line so it reflects what you're replying to ( or just change it to something like "multiple replies"). Not only will this make things a lot easier for everyone, it increases the amount of people who will read it. I know of many people (myself included) who don't read multiple postings, in a row, in one day, because more often than not they're all one- sentence replies. I'd be much more willing to read a letter with multiple replies to multiple postings, 'cause not only would it probably be interesting, it'd show the poster was way-cool and concerned with courtesy for others. Heh. That was fun. OK, off to write a 8 page paper or Aphra Behn and Oroonoko. Anyone want to write it for me ? Any 17th century British literature buffs out there? Bleh. Rachel :D ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Nov 1998 19:50:35 EST From: Rudgetty@aol.com Subject: Re: MM: NPC: multiple posts Like you said, people are replying one sentencers, but doesn't it make you feel just tickeld pink to be recieving tons of letters, from people interested in talking to you, interested in your 60-year-old anecdotes...or does it just act as a nuisance? I am curious. I am quite busy, bogged down with classes, athletics, and trying to balance my social life while getting good grades, worrying about school, and maintaining a civil tone toward all bystanders...what I am saying is that I am BUSY, okay. But every once in awhile I break away for an hour, maybe more..read my letters. There is nothing in this world I would rather to be talking about then Patty. So, it makes me feel good to get letters from real people, with real lives, real opinions...etc. So does it bother you to have mail, to have people from all walks of life, take a step back, and talk about that little red devil with you?
