Ok this is a pretty cool story and I'm going to give ya'll the condenced version! You probably wouldn't guess it about me but I'm the type of person that cries, like at songs, movies, hallmark commercials... Anyhow..I had just gotten this mix tape of Dar Williams from my then girlfriend, and I listened to "You're Aging Well" and made the mistake of listening to the words, and started crying...and I rewound this tape over and over torturing myself..until I got so upset that I couldn't rewind it! It just so happened that the next song she had put on that tape was "The Pointless, Yet Poignant Crisis of a Coed" which the whole thing is a really great funny song that shows what a great sense of humor Dar really has...but I always giggle outloud on the last line: "and my exboyfriend can't tell me I've sold out, because he's in a cult..and he's not allowed to talk to me!" she just sounds so perky..it loses something just typed out *L* Either that or "diamond mind" by rasputina which is a parody of a woman from brooklyn whining to her boyfriend/husband about how she wants a diamond, all to the tune of those De Beers commercials.. "what other way can you make 4 MONTHS OF YOUR MEASELY SALERY last a lifetime?? And what have I EVER ASKED YOU FOR..besides...the ability to READ MY MIND?? And I didn't get that either, YET.." Check out Dar and Rasputina if any of this sounds interesting to you! Very different, but both very great!! Sorry that I went a little overboard *L* *HUGS* Lamia == "I've got all these teletubbies in my dressing room, like Dipsy has all these peace ritual symbols on him. Before a show, we all get together and do 'doinged de de doing'... I spent 7 hours writing stuff for this and I'm reduced to Doinged de de doinged..." - --Tori Amos, VH1 Storytellers http://members.tripod.com/~SqueekyFromme/enter.html _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
