I was listening to the local station here yesterday morning. They have a show called Sunday Brunch where most of the acoustic based good music is relegated. A Patti song came on, "Let Him Fly", and there were strings in it, drums, and other stuff. However, the record company (or her producer or something) decided they liked her demo tape better than the album they'd just recorded. LWG is actually Patty's demo tape, and as far as I know, those band versions are the discarded band cuts :). BTW, I was listening to a very old Patty tape recently (from before LWG was recorded), and she played Christina. It's funny to see the timeline of songs... sometimes you think a song is brand new because you're hearing it for the first time or i'ts on a new album, and it's a little shock to your system when you're wrong :). That I don't know, but one promo out there is "Selections From Patty Griffin Living With Ghosts". It's a cardboard sleeved disc with the same cover artwork as LWG, and has the CD cuts of Moses, Mad Mission, Let Him Fly and Every Little Bit.
