The two songs >that people liked the least were Peter Pan and Big Daddy. I dunno....I think 'Peter Pan' is pure genius!!! I listen to it over and over. The song is so pure...it just seems to bring you to terms with certain truths which are definately there in life...but maybe are not so explainable. (That kinda sounds weird...) Patty communicates so well in song and 'Peter Pan' is, I think, one of the best examples of an art she has perfected...communicating successfully what would otherwise be extremely difficult to sensibly communicate. I think the fact that Patty included the song on the disc shows a huge amount of trust in the listener. Maybe I'm just odd...(that's what the numbers say anyway) but IMHO, 'Peter Pan' is one of the best songs on the album. Just my 2 cents... Actually, I kind of agree. At least, I don't HATE Peter Pan. I don't listen to it over and over either. But it's a pretty good song. I think it fits in well with the album. I kind of like it at the end... sort of like Not Alone was on the first album. Big Daddy on the other hand, I don't like at all. I think that Peter Pan is an entirely different thing all together. Did people actually SPECIFY that they didn't like Peter Pan? I can see not mentioning it... but I just didn't htink it was so bad that it deserves special mention as a "bad track." I'm surprised that Blue Sky wasn't on the list as a favorite. That's one of my favorites. Maybe _I'M_ the one who is odd? (ack!) No really, I wasn't too into it at first, but it is one that finds it's way inside. However, I have yet to really give it a chance. Perhaps once I do it will grow on me. On the other hand, I love Big Daddy. I understand why most people don't like it, it's a bit of an odd song, but that's exactly what I like about it :) I like the slow, almost floating quality of Big Daddy.. if that makes any sense :/ I agree about Big Sky too. It's a bit commercial sounding which is maybe why it wasn't a big choice of many in the survey, but I love it anyway. I love the crunchy guitar sound on that tune. I get the feeling Patty had an army of guitars on some of those tunes :) Too busy listening to study the liner note too closely yet :) - ------------------------------------------- David Lewis - Graphic Designer dlewis@hfx.andara.com - ------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 04 Jul 1998 15:28:01 -0500 From: Kuhl Subject: MM: (non-patty content) Heather Nova Sorry 'bout that this post isnt really related to patty but I just picked up Heather Nova's new CD 'Siren' and i must tell you if you like the whole female vocalist kinda genra (Sarah, Patty, Tori, Bjork, ect...) check it out. its just gorgeous beautiful music. her voice is very angelic and dreamy. songs ranging from mid tempo rockers to drippy ballads.
