The best music store in Houston, Cactus Music & Video, was giving away free Patty Griffin baby t-shirts w/ purchase of the FR cd. I thought it was an odd promo, the t - shirt really is TINY, but has this cool glittery iron-on design on the front with Patty's name embedded in the silver glitter and underneath that is the album name in the red glitter. PLUS, and I do mean PLUS, you get to register to win a Baby Taylor guitar autographed by Patty. Has anyone else gotten any other Patty goodies when they bought the cd? I guess A&M is behind this. David p.s. Thanks everyone for crossing your fingers to help me win the autographed guitar, I love you all! Wish me luck! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 02 Jul 1998 10:20:34 -0700 From: Elaine Bean Subject: MM: FR review Flaming Red got a good review in the Calendar Section of the Boston Globe today, although the reviewer points out that this one is "all over the map" but ends with a favorable comment. She says"Bottom line, anything was bound to sound diluted after the mesmerizing emotional purity of her (Griffin's) voice-guitar work. This is, in its own right, a fine, facsinating record". Yes it is, but we knew that. Elaine ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 02 Jul 1998 15:42:37 +0000 From: Rich Subject: Re: MM: Patty: Full Page Article in July "Pulse!" Just got my tickets to Lilith Fair, and I was curious if anybody in the Austin area knew who was performing on the 31st. It seems more people keep dropping off the list. I 'll be picking up my FR copy soon, take care sean palen Remember that name, I'll have my first cd coming in a couple months. I'm excited. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Jul 1998 22:21:47 EDT From: KRAMER076@aol.com Subject: MM: Patty Survey Results Well, the results are in and like everyone thought TONY is most people's favorite song. Here's the rest of the results: 1. Tony 2. Mary 3. Christina 4. Change 5. One Big Love 6. Goodbye & Wiggly Fingers It was pretty obvious what songs that everyone doesn't like. The two songs that people liked the least were Peter Pan and Big Daddy. This is not a scientific survey. Everyone has their own opinions and in my opinion every song is good in its own way! Every time I turn on the radio, I hear One Big Love and I always freak out! Patty is going to be so huge and I can always say that I knew her when. SOB SOB! Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying FR and I just want to mention that I have now heard Flaming Red on TWO stations!
