Gilmore" Subject: Re: MM: yep well Yes, she's just a musician. But there's nothing wrong with discussing music on an honest, open-minded level. The people who don't have lives are those who say that "I'm the biggest Patty Griffin (or Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams, Patty Larkin, Natalie Merchant, etc.) fan there is on the planet. To prove it, I've got her record album image tattooed on me, I'm going to name my daughter after her, and when I die, I'll be buried with all of her CD's." People like that are the ones who need to get a life--they're no different than the bobby soxers who screamed half a century ago at Sinatra. Times change, people don't--they now do their screaming on the 'Net. On Fri, 22 May 1998, Chris Bridges wrote: > My roommate is a subscriber, I just use his computer. I have been away for a bit ane have missed out on some of the posts. Many thanks to Elaine for giving me the chance to hear Flaming Red. Just as sweet as Living with Ghosts but more powerful. Still as insightful and sincere as music may ever get. Mike goreckime@cbpu.com ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V2 #150 *********************************
