I haven't seen her live yet, so I hadn't heard "Regarding Mary" before, but the little bit I did hear made me very excited (not like I already wasn't) to hear her new album. And, yes, they did give "Not Alone" crucial playing time at the end, which was very cool and it gave that song a meaning I had never felt before, even bringing tears to my eyes for the first time. I called up Virgin Megastore (here in San Francisco) and they said the tentative release date for the soundtrack is April 21st, so keep on the look-out, Mad-Mishers. It definitely does sound like a very cool soundtrack. I patiently await Patty's arrival in San Fran. I did see Ellis Paul in Berkeley last week and he was great. Talked to him for a few mintues after the show as well. Down-to-earth guy, not like I expected anything different. Hope everyone's doing well. I also caught the film today. I've been waiting for it for quite a while, as it stars two of my favorite performers. I was thrilled to discover through the list that Patty's songs would appear in it, along with Michael Timmins' score! The little bit that was played of the new song- "Regarding Mary" (?) was interesting- I was taken aback a bit because of the band... I'm so used to hearing just Patty & her guitar on LIVING WITH GHOSTS that it takes me a minute to recover when I hear her voice over drums, etc. "Not Alone" was truly perfect. The theatre was in a hush. (Okay there were only about 8 people there, but still...!) The film itself: I may be a bit biased, but I'll say that of three of us went in & when we came out one hated it, one *liked* it, and I loved it- Robin Tunney gives a wonderful performance. All in all, a nice afternoon out. :) peace, rick *truth changes colors, depending on the light.* -Kasi Lemmons http://members.aol.com/rbsayre/rick.html *we're born alone & we die alone & in between we sit in bed alone and watch Mary Tyler Moore reruns* ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V2 #88 ********************************
