You're covered in babies, you're covered in slashes, you're covered in wilderness, you're covered in stains. You cast aside the sheet, you cast aside the shroud of another man, who served the world proud. You greet another son, you lose another one, on some sunny day and always stay, Mary. Jesus and Mother I couldn't stay another day longer Flys right by me and leaves a kiss upon her face, While the angels are singin' his praises in a blaze of glory, Mary stays behind and starts cleaning up the place Mary she moves behind me, She leaves her fingerprints everywhere, Everytime the snow drifts, everytime the sand shifts, Even when the night lifts, she's always there, Jesus and Mother I couldn't stay another day longer Flys right by me and leaves a kiss upon her face, While the angels are singin'' his praises in a blaze of glory, Mary stays behind and starts cleaning up the place Mary you're covered in roses, you're covered in ruin, you're covered in secrets. Your'e covered in treetops, you're covered in birds, who can sing a million songs without any words. You cast aside the sheets, you cast aside the shroud of another man, who served the world proud. You greet another son, you lose another one, on some sunny day and always stay, Mary, Mary, Mary "Flaming Red" - A Patty Griffin Website http://nw3.nai.net/~zigmont/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Feb 1998 16:20:06 EST From: JEWELFAN22 Subject: Re: MM: Ann Arbor Shows Geeze, It sounds like a lot of mishers were there!! I was there too!! I forced my boyfriend to come with me!! He loved it!!!!!!! That was my third time seeing Patty. It was so exciting!! Next time at a Patty show, someone scream out, "I'm a Misher!!" Yes, some people may look at you strangely, but you know...whatever. I was so excited to hear her play Wishing Well!!!!!!!!! I LOVE that song!!!!!!! Forgiveness is my song of the moment because of a certain crappy life situation, so it was great to hear her play that too!! WOW, it was just great to see her play!!!! I must say, that Patty has improved a lot since the first time I saw her about 2 years ago....she was great then, but I was absolutely BLOWN away!!!!!!! Peace, and I'll talk to you all later!! This my first post to the list, so I'll give a bit of my = background. I saw Patty Griffin two Septembers ago in Covington (almost = Cincinnati), Kentucky opening for John Gorka and have loved her ever = since. Living With Ghosts is one of my favorite cds. I was also lucky = enough to see her again last March when she toured with Freedy Johnston = and Shawn Colvin. In addition to Patty Griffin, I like John Gorka, David Wilcox, and Ellis = Paul. I was glad to see that Patty sang on his Stories album. I'm looking forward to reading everyone's posts about Patty, and I'm = anxious for the new cd! =20 Lori ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V2 #54 ********************************
