Anyway, Patty's playing in Providence at the Met Cafe on Valentines Day (lucky me!) for a fantastic $7!! Hope to see you and your sweethearts there, though I imagine me and my sweetheart are the only Patty fans in this neck of the woods!! take care, Melissa ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Feb 1998 16:14:47 -0500 (EST) From: Heather R Keenan Subject: MM: guitar stuff hi everyone.... i am relatively new to the list but a strong patty supporter since lilith fair...living with ghost has been the best album ive gotten in a very long time...okay anyway :) i am learning play guitar and i was curious to know if anyone had the music for any of patty's songs....i have moses, you never get what you want and sweet lorraine...but i was wondering if anyone had the tabs for let him fly, mad mission...or any....just wondering... ~*~ heather ~*~ fav, patty song: FORGIVENESS--i love it!! the lyrics sing through my soul...:) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Feb 1998 16:24:26 -0500 (EST) From: Casey Beth Nissenbaum Subject: [none] Gawd, I am so totally annoyed! I'm in California and it makes me sick hearing everyone talk about how they're gonna meet and party and go to see Patty together! The Nerve!! I hope she comes here this year. Her music means alot to me and yes, just last night I went to bed with "Forgiveness" running through my head over and over and this morning until I finally got to work and popped in the CD. Now I'm listening to it and it surprises me every time I listen to it how moving her music is. So anyways "You are not alone" Pun intended! I've been a Patty fan since about Sept. '96. when I heard the CD in Borders on one of their little listening device things. I was sold right then and there. My husband and I have seen Patty live a number of times--opening for Shawn Colvin, several solo shows, and at last year's Ann Arbor folk festival. I also met Patty at a free concert at Borders (sure does seem Borders has played a significant part in this whole endeavor) in Chicago last year. She signed our CD pamphlet thing. And, we got a little pic taken with her. She was very nice! I also enjoy the music of Jackson Browne. I have been lucky enough to see her perform live twice so far and looking forward to a third show when she visits Chicago in late Feb. I have a few PG tabs, Poor Man's House, Every Little Bit, and Time Will Do the Talking, and I am trying to work out Mad Mission, Forgiveness and Let him Fly. I would be more than happy to give you what I do have completed now if you're interested. Actually, there is a version of PMH posted on the OLGA, and it is pretty accurate. Obviously, it is impossible to capture Patty's style and passion in a tab but if you know the song, you can generally make them work. If you're not familiar with OLGA, you should really check it out. The address is: http://www.harmony-central.com/guitar/tab.html Let me know if your interested in what I do have and in the meantime, I will try and figure out the ones you are after. By the way, how long have you been playing guitar? Steve ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V2 #31 ********************************
