I've only seen Patty twice in Austin (two nights in a row - yes I know I was very lucky). Anyone else see her those two nights? My favorite cover that she does is "Crazy", the Willie Nelson tune that Patsy Cline made famous, I kind of got chills up my spine hearing it. My most interesting observation about her is she looks kind of like that Elaine girl on "Seinfeld", odd huh? My wish is to find someone who taped an E-town show off the radio around Jan. or Feb. l997, Patty and Shawn Colvin were the featured artist that day. I'd love to get a copy from someone, can you help me please? peace and love to all the moses and sweet lorraine's out there, David ps. hi Lindsey :-) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Jan 1998 13:54:29 -0500 From: SillyGirl-1@webtv.net Subject: MM: Greetings from a newbie! Hi there!!!!Wow,a Patty Griffin mailing list!!!! I first fell in love with her voice and music around 1992 ,when I heard "I Write The Book"on a local NPR station....taped it off the radio and played it `til the tape fell apart!!What a song! Then of course I bought "Living With Ghosts"and was in awe. Just found out that she`s going to be in Louisville on 3/1,about an hour away but we`re going! Anyone have any idea where I could find a copy of "Legacy II",with "I Write The Book"on it????I read somewhere that it`s out of print....wuld love to get my hands on a copy! Well, guess that`s about it..... Peace:-)Kadean ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Jan 1998 14:08:01 -0400 (EDT) From: kartalst@HUGSE1.HARVARD.EDU Subject: MM: NJC, NTC: Cross-Post re: Patty Griffin, February 21, Somerville , Theatre Hey y'all! I just wanted to shed some light on plans for BEFORE the Patty Griffin/Ellis Paul concert on February 21 at the Somerville Theatre up here in Boston. I think the show starts at 8-ish, or something likethat. I was thinking that we could all meet for dinner beforehand, somewhere on the Red Line. Since it looks like a more-than-healthy sized group of people is coming to this show, there is a lot to be said for meeting obscenely early at a restaurant...to make sure that our food is cooked and down our stomachs and throats in enough time to comfortably get to the theatre! So I was thinking...meeting at Pizzeria Uno's at the Porter Square stop on the Red Line (1 stop away from Davis Square...) at 5 PM for dinner. I know it's early, and I know that there are more original places than Uno's...but...Uno's is totally yummy, it's still got fun atmosphere, and the earlier we go, the better it will be...since most of the cambridge area restaurants do not take reservations. Also, Uno's is pretty reasonable in prices. And loads of fun! so does this sound good? Anyone with an opinion let me know. There is about a month till the concert, but as I know, all too well, time really flies. take care y'all stephanie Stephanie Maria Kartalopoulos We should be very greatful to have a kartalst@hugse1.harvard.edu limited body...like mine or like The Greek Poet Chyck yours.
