Thanks, Janet ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2002 19:19:19 -0800 (PST) From: Zachary Scot Johnson Subject: MM: Tabs Hi, I sent a message earlier today that I intended for everyone on list, but I think it only got sent to Janet because it was responding to her post about tabs. So, sorry, Janet for sending this to you again. I was looking for the tabs to Holy Water, too, and also if anyone has: Truth (not #2, the first one), The Longer You Wait, Nail In The Coffin, Boxes on the Lawn or Let Your Freedom Ring. There should be tabs for the entire love from your lips collection! I also mentioned that there were a few rare tabs that I hadn't seen before (namely "Breaking Up Somebody's Home" and "Standing") at http://www.altcountrytab.com Thanks, Zach Yahoo! Patty does a typical pattern with the D chord where she lifts and lowers her middle finger (which you can hear very easily), but I don't know the name of the other chord, so what follows is a very simplified version of what actually is played. If nothing else it is a starting point for anyone that wants to play the song, and should be played while listening to the song so that you can correct any mistakes I may have made and get the timing right. Hope it helps, Aaron Florida (my interpretation) Capo IV Intro (w/out fancy picking by 2nd guitar) Em/C/Em/C G A couple young girls went Em Sailing down 818 C To the arms of Florida D Sailing down the highway Em Singing their heads off C Protected by the holy ghosts G Flying in from the ocean D Driving with their eyes closed C D Em The night wants to kiss you deep And be on his way C D Pretend that he dont know you G D The very next day C Isnt it hard sometimes Em Isnt it lonely? C The clouds still hang around you D Em Theres nothing to hold me G Slide down into the sea Em 12 hours on your feet C get the tide to wash you away D thousands and thousands of days Em someone you never meet C signs the check you get every week G you try and still cant forget D all the strangers that you met C D yeah the night never holds you Em or nothing, anyway C D G makes promises that he never intends to keep D everyday C isnt it hard sometimes Em isnt it lonely C D clouds still hang around you Em theres nothing to hold me C D every time every year Em the travelers come and go C see them landing with their pale wings D flying back to the snow G summer comes marching Em with its heavy boots on C kicking along the blacktop D sidewalks of 818 Em young girls in their bare feet C cigarette smoking G looking every which way D wishing and hoping C and you want the night D Em just to let you sleep C and be on its way D wrap you up in some cool sheets G D and have nothing to say C isnt it hard sometimes Em isnt it lonely C clouds still hang around you Em theres nothing to hold me C Em nothing to hold me C Em (single strum) ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
