First learned of Patty through the Niagara, Niagara soundtrack and have since very much enjoyed Flaming Red and 1,000 Kisses. I've enjoyed this list for the brief time I've been on it. You've answered my questions and have been at once informative and entertaining. But someone REALLY should have explained to me what I was missing by not having heard Living With Ghosts. Really. Maybe because I'm just beginning the life-long journey of learning to play guitar. Maybe because the sparce instrumentation seems such a perfect backdrop to The Voice. Maybe the lyrics, maybe the style, maybe the shortness of the CD leaves me wanting more. I don't know. But this album just plain speaks to me. I absolutely love every little bit. Sweet Lorraine. Are you kidding me? Man, that's some Music there. Anyway, that's it. I'm not really pissed, of course. I was a Chicks fan and thought _Home_ the best music in recent history. "Truth No. 2" and "Top of the World" became my favorites, so when I realized that one singer/songwriter composed both, I had to check her out. Wow ... I am sooo hooked. - --- Gary Jacques wrote: > Ed, simply the best acoustic record ever. > EG Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. "1,000 Kisses" was, of course, specifically recognized as part of the honor. MMers have had varying opinions of the album, generally very positive, but I'm sure we can all be pleased about the recognition of today's best artist (along with Bruce). More about it in the next posting. ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #419 *********************************
