If you don't have it yet, RUN to your store and get it. You PG fans will LOVE that CD! Holly - -------------------------- Patty Griffin is one of the artists collaborating with the Chieftains on their CD "Down the Old Plank Road: The Nashville Sessions." She sings on "Whole Heap of Little Horses," a traditional song which could be described as a lullaby. Other guests on the disk include Bela Fleck, Earl Scruggs, Alison Krauss and Ricky Skaggs, so she's in very good company. The Chieftains are, in case you don't know, a traditional Irish band that has periodically collaborated with non-Irish musicians on some delightful albums. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Dec 2002 11:11:50 EST From: TimSharp63@aol.com Subject: MM: Whole Heep That song is a keeper and its also on a holiday album by by Shawn Colvin, I thinks its called Holiday Songs and Lullabies Tim ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Dec 2002 08:52:05 +1030 From: "Danny Wallace" Subject: MM: Little Horses/Kasey Chambers Or alternatively buy anything by Kristin Hersh - the woman is absolutely amazing. Got hold of the Kasey Chambers DVD with her cover of "Top Of The World" (credited to Patti Griffin!). Very nice cover, and she has some very nice things to say about Patty before performing the song solo acoustic. I'm hoping it will introduce some other Australians to Patty's music. I don't know anyone else in Australia who listens to her. Are there any aussies on this list other than me? I would hope so..... Judging from seeing little Bean outside of a venue before, it doesn't surprise me that hte picture is blurry either. That little guy (girl?) is pretty darn active.. you'd need some high speed film just to keep the picture in focus.. I love Patty and have all her CD's. I have been spreading the gospel of Patty to all my friends, so we are gathering a small following.....hopefully it will grow big enough to make her tour Down Under. I'd love to chat to you sometime about Patty and other fine artists. Mark ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #409 *********************************
