The other night, at a Bread and Circus supermarket, I was delighted to hear "Chief" wafting through the speakers. The mix for the hour or so that I was there also included Richard & Teddy Thompson and Darcie's favorite, Norah Jones. Also, Starbucks has just issued the latest in its series of artist profile CDs, which feature the favorite music of acclaimed performers. The artist in question is Lucinda, and one of the songs she's chosen is "Mary." Finally, I really like the Chicks' versions of Patty's songs on "Home," especially "Truth #2." I think the bluegrassy take and the harmonies work extremely well. Hope it's as beautiful a day wherever you are as it is in Boston...
