I stumbled upon it totally fortuitously - was in the car on the way to the grocery store, and it came on ATC about 3 minutes after I had turned on the radio. You can listen to it at the following URL: http://www.npr.org/ramfiles/atc/20020921.atc.08.ram Enjoy! - Andy ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Sep 2002 07:32:24 -0500 From: LouAnn Muhm Subject: Re: MM: NPC - ticketmaster That must be it! I think this is a re-run, as they kept referring to ACL's 25 year anniversary, which was in 2000. So this was before ATO signed Patty? I wonder if it is where Dave M. "discovered" her? I came in halfway through and only got to hear Patty sing "Mary" and do a harmony on a Julie Miller song. She's turning up everywhere--and about time! I agree-- I went there and read some of it. Just remember that most country fans tend to be really traditional (though uninformed about what "traditional" really is in country--it ain't Shania Twain) and not really open to anything that doesn't sound like the same twelve songs they hear played over and over again on their favorite radio stations. Having said that, and after reassuring everybody that I LOVE the song "Chief" and all of 1000 Kisses, I would have to say that the video sucks. It is goofy and doesn't have a coherent theme. It was obviously shot at the same time as the promo photos for 1000 Kisses, in a cost-saving measure. My advice to ATO: Wanna do a cheap video? Just let Patty sing, and film it. Or do the narrative thing with the man the song is about, but don't have Patty driving, floating, or doing any of that other cheesy stuff that has nothing to do with the story she is telling. My two cents. Flame away. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Sep 2002 15:53:19 -0500 From: "Dave Short" Subject: RE: MM: Re: Patty on CMT message board I'm with LouAnn. Love Patty, love the song, but the video did nothing for me. "Cheesy" is the right word, esp with the endless pictures of "Chief" saluting...
