I am brand new to this list, having had my interest in Patty newly energized after seeing her in concert in Madison, WI. Amazing show!! Anyway, I missed the tree for the 2 disc compilation (the Whitaker and then the the bunch of other songs from the spring/summer tour), and REALLY want a copy! I do not have any Patty boots to trade, but I do have other artists, particularly Sheryl Crow. Email me PLEASE at hbooms @tickets.com if you are willing to mkae me a copy, either for trade or B&P... Thanks! That's not a criticism, actually. Some of the "rock" sound takes me back a few years. I was noticing that some things that came out in the last few months (some Jimmy Eat World, a single by Sheryl Crow) also have this sound. On a silly side note...had a dream about Patty the other night. She was playing some bizarre venue where a bunch of teenage hooligans (that's right- HOOLIGANS) were being rude. At one point some kid was singing on a microphone behind her and ruining her performance. So a bunch of us got up and started singing really well to make him shut up. It worked and Patty was really happy. Darcie was there too, singing back up on one song and then singing with two other women. I've never seen Darcie but I'll bet she didn't look like she did in my dream...blonde and very conservative. Anyone? Anyone? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Aug 2002 13:19:14 -0700 (PDT) From: Ronni Heggen Subject: MM: Patty in Minneapolis Hi all, just wanted to tell you that I finally got to see Patty last night at the FineLine in Minneapolis. Wow. Wow. Wow. She was amazing. Don't remember the set list (not very good at this reviewing thing) but she opened with Chief and some of her 1000 Kisses songs like she has been everywhere and I'm very happy to report that I got to hear 'The Moon's Gonna Follow Me Home'-it is so amazing live-the whole crowd was completely quiet while she sang that one. Mil Besos is great live too-I just absolutely loved what she did with every song, accordian and all. The last time I saw her headline-in '98 I really believe she was completely stoned and the band was sloppy--it was mostly Flaming Red material and it seemed like they didn't know how to end the songs--they just messily trailed off. None of that tonight--if she was stoned--she hid it well and she and the band were so on-for every song all the way to the end. She did 'Let Him Fly' as one of her encore songs, this is a personal favorite of mine because it's the first Patty song I'd ever heard and have been hooked ever since. She did not do 'Stolen Car' or 'Top of the World' or 'Nobody's Crying' but for some reason I didn't even notice that until I was listening to Whitaker on the way home. I didn't feel cheated at all and 2 of those are my favorites. The crowd was VERY receptive and kind--she said they might keep touring for 10 more months-to which Doug Lancio let out a very loud, sarcastic laugh. I guess it's time for him to get on home. She looked so beautiful--her hair was up and she was wearing a reddish taffeta dress that Eliza had bought for her just that day. Gorgeous. She said having Eliza on the road with her was like having a sister along. This was the first time I heard Eliza and she was very good too--bought one of her CD's but haven't had a chance to listen yet. That's all--just thought I'd let you all know that whiny Ronni in ND finally got to see Patty. LouAnn are you out there? I want to hear about your experience in Detroit!!!
