It is located next to the new Tiger Stadium and there is a game that night so that means all parking around the Gem will be at least 10 dollars...move a few blocks away and it gets cheaper also does anyone want to meet before the show. There are a few bars around there the closest being Elwood Grill between the Gem and the stadium...I have Don Henns cell number and am going to try and meet up with him and share a shot or two like we did before the Ark show earlier in the year. The outdoor venue is a festival setup, with the stage located toward the bottom of the grade with a backdrop of trees, and the audience seated on chairs, blankets, etc. looking down at the proceeding. The concert tonight was a kind of fill in for Little Feat, who joined up with a music festival some time back and thus could not make this date. How lucky we are that Patty was able to do this date. Eliza Gilkeson, the opening act, starting singing before 8 p.m., and finished a fine solo-acoustic performance about 8:25. Patty got on at around 8:45. Set list: Chief Rain Long Ride Home Makin' Pies Be Careful Flaming Red Racing In the Streets (Bruce) Moses Tony Better Way To Say Goodbye (is that the title?) Truth #2 Mad Mission Mil Besos Encore: Let Him Fly Tomorrow Night Sweet Loraine Before Racing In the Streets, Patty mentioned that Bruce's new CD was just released, and that she has not yet learned to play the songs. Bless her for mentioning the album's release. The main part of the set finished at 9:45. The encore songs were finished at 10 p.m. Many of Patty's most ardent fans ended up at the "mosh pit" (Patty kiddingly called it that) at the front. Excellent performance. Thank you to Allegheny County, the Regional Asset District, WYEP, and the other sponsors.
