I also dislike some of the odd goings on towards the end of the song (vocals, etc.). I had heard Patty perform the song before I heard Silver Bell and was quite disappointed with it." Couldn't agree more. Her live performance of TOFW is so powerful and beautiful and the arrangement on Silver Bell is so odd. I wanted to like it but I just can't get as excited about it. What is going on? Are tickets on sale for August 6 in Detroit??? All the best, Team ATO ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2002 20:13:00 -0400 From: "Russell Goulet" Subject: MM: Patty and Jackson Hi everyone! My very first post! I have been a huge fan of Patty ever since I layed ears on "Living with Ghosts". I can't get over how her voice delivers...track after track. I love Flaming Red and my wife and I listen to 1000 Kisses daily! I worry about getting sick of it because we play it so much but it looks like that will never happen. I am overjoyed with the fact that I will finally be getting a chance to see her live in MA on July 20th! I can't wait! The last concert I went to was Jackson Brown - Solo Acoustic tour about 4 weeks ago. I just can't seemed to get enough Jackson either...I.e., saw him live 5 times, have all his albums and re-purchased all these on CD's too! The irony is that while waiting for Jackson to come on stage in an acoustically perfect venue (Providence Performing Arts Center), we had the pleasure of listening to 1000 Kisses! Jackson knows a great talent when he hears one! Well, I don't wanna wear out my welcome here in my first post but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get photos or recordings of the Sedona AZ concert where Jackson and Patty actually played together on stage. I heard that they did "Rock Me on the Water". I'd love to see and hear whatever I can get on these two great artists! Thanks in Advance, Russ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2002 20:56:24 -0500 From: "Jennifer Caputo" Subject: MM: Last night - Patty with the Chieftains Saw Patty sing 2.5 songs with the Chieftains last night at the Chicago symphony. I'm not sure of the title of the first one she sang but Paddi (of the Chieftains) called it a lullaby. She then sang Foggy Dew. They brought her back out for the finale and she sang one verse of Goodnight Irene. I really did enjoy the show but I'm not sure that Foggy Dew was made for Patty's voice. The lullaby sounded wonderful though! It was definitely a totally different atmostphere to see her though and I recommend checking it out to anyone that really wants to see her doing something different. Anyone else there? - jen ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ AIM: traDMB http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~jcaputo http://www.pattygriffin.net ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2002 23:25:03 EDT From: FlamingRed74@aol.com Subject: MM: Charlottesville, VA MM'ers.. Hi, I'm going on a little Patty expedition with Don, starting on the 25th in Charlottesville. We'll be meeting up there at the Star Hill show, then continuing down through VA, to Carrboro, NC.. then onto Knoxville, TN before I head back home to Harrisburg area. To make this as convenient as possible.. we're going to be taking 1 car once we leave Charlottesville, so I need a place to keep my car for a few days. Anyone here have any suggestions of a place where I could keep my car & it would not likely be towed when I return from Knoxville?? The part about NOT being towed is VERY important.. b/c the same day I'll be returning I'm going to The Who/Robert Plant show in Hershey, PA.. so I will kind of be NEEDING my car that day.. :-) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Dave ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #257 *********************************
