The July 20th show is in Northampton, MA, not PA as is listed. I about had a heart attack when I saw that since I have tickets for the show. Anyone else going to this show? They process & print liner notes for cds. She mentioned something about the red dirt down there, and that reminded me of what Dave Matthews said about "where the red dirt comes from" on the ACL songwriters show. My sister said that they had just done the cover for the new DMB album. I thought...they probably did 1000 Kisses as well, since the two are on the same label. She said yes, she actually remembered Patty's name and album because the booklet for 1000 Kisses was one of the biggest ones they have done. I mentioned the talk on the list about people having problems getting it refolded right, & she laughed, bec. she remembered how convoluted the design was. Bad news is...no chance for her to snag me some original artwork, because they never even see any...the design comes to them in a locked electronic file, and all they do is basically set it up to work in their presses and print out the liner notes as they get them. So, no cool swag to collect, but still kind of a neat thing to know. ... On a wholly different note...1000 Kisses means more & more to me every day. My family is all together now bec. my mother is in the last stage of a losing battle with cancer. My parents' 50th anniversary is coming up this fall (she won't last that long), so you can imagine what 'Long Ride Home' has been doing to (& for) me lately. Follow that up w/ 'Nobody's Crying', and, well...I am. But through it all, the chorus of 'Rain' keeps running through my head. In a way, I wish more people would find an appreciation for this genius songwriter, but at the same time, I'm glad she's still kind of our little secret. Take care, all. I'm off to the nursing home. (The one I got from Audiogalaxy has a pretty loud hiss behind it.) Can anyone help? Also would love a good quality live track of TOTW. Thanks. ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #252 *********************************
