Some Technologically backward regions like the UK have to rely on 64k dialup connections, not T1 connections, Anyway, I shouldn't have to cross the atlantic to see Patty. ATO should have the Balls to bring Patty Over here and release her album and not behave like the USA is the only region that matters/exists. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-mad-mission@smoe.org [mailto:owner-mad-mission@smoe.org]On Behalf Of LouAnn Muhm Sent: 28 June 2002 14:38 To: Jerry Skomer; 'mad-mission@smoe.org' Subject: Re: MM: Hey LouAnn--we're here for you ! >If I needed a kidney, >then OK. The crowd was large and very enthusiastic. Patty was not able to sign autographs. It was stated that she is a little under the weather. I can see why she would want to rest, with the 4 p.m. taping of World Cafe at the Warhol, and the 1.5 hour concert at 8 p.m. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Jun 2002 00:14:05 EDT From: Rockerpgh@aol.com Subject: MM: Review of Patty Concert at WYEP Summer Music Festival Patty played at the WYEP Summer Music Festival, held on Saturday, June 29, 2002 in conjunction with the World Cafi radio program taping which was done at the Andy Warhol Museum. The Festival was held on the north shore of the Allegheny River in Downtown Pittsburgh, with the river and Downtown skyline seen behind the stage. Patty was the fifth of six acts. Her show started at about 8:20 p.m., about 20 minutes late, and lasted for over an hour. Set list: Chief Rain Long Ride Home (harmonies provided by Michael and Doug) Makin' Pies Be Careful Flaming Red Poor Man's House (solo) Mary Truth #2 Stolen Car (with somewhat of a hard-rock guitar accompaniment by Doug) Mad Mission Mil Besos Encore: Let Him Fly Tomorrow Night The weather was perfect. There was a crowd in the thousands (estimated by my companions as 4-5,000). Boats would go by in the river, only one of which was noticeably noisy (it needed a muffler). Included were a number of excursion boats. The folks in the excursion boats were gathered to get a glimpse of the concert, probably not knowing that they were traveling by a concert by a world-class performer. The crowd was very appreciative of Patty's performance. Most of the crowd rose to give Patty a standing ovation at the end of the main part of her performance. It was great. And it was also great to notice a few people (besides me) mouthing the words to the songs. And it was announced that WYEP would sponsor another free concert by Patty, at the outdoor venue Hartwood Acres on August 4. Icing on the cake! ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #247 *********************************
