Right on. I must say, I love Patty and her music, but she is not a religious figure to me, as she seems to be for so many of you on the list. Actually, I shouldn't say "so many," since 98% of the posts come from about 6 people. Not a criticism--just an abservation. I'm sorry if I offended people by putting my family, my job responsibilities and my financial solvency ahead of the Almighty Patty Giffin. Frankly, I think she would be a little freaked out by all of this slavish devotion. Again, just an observation--- LouAnn ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Jun 2002 19:54:33 -0500 From: LouAnn Muhm Subject: MM: Oops! > the Almighty Patty Giffin. Of course, I meant the Almighty Patty Griffin. We all got over our Patty Giffin worship years ago. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Jun 2002 21:55:17 -0700 From: Jerry Skomer Subject: MM: Hey LouAnn--we're here for you ! Lou Ann: Wow, you're response was oddly sad. While David nicely re-stated what I was trying to say when I encouraged people to "go for it" occasionally, I thought your statement that there were no alternatives but to put your kids up for adoption if you were to actually go see Patty to be lacking in creativity. And I don't mean that harshly either. So, to show you what can happen when you "think outside of the box" (really do hate that phrase), let's see if we all can help. First, what if I were to offer to pay for your tickets to the nearest Patty show? And, I would also be willing to pay for a babysitter. Finally, I would be more than happy to contibute to transportation costs. And since it sounds as though you can't go during the week, find a week-end date. I bet others on this list would be willing to help somehow. Let's put it to the test. Let's see if anyone else offers to help you--either they might offer a ride or help defray travel costs . . . So, you see, LouAnne, you never know when a miracle might come your way. You just have to be willing to open your heart to the mad mission. I only have one request of you: at some point in your life, you must return the favor to some other person who is stuck in a moment and doesn't know how to get out of it. (It's okay to refer to U2, as I believe Patty likes them . . . ) How does this sound to you? Anybody else willing to help LouAnn? Very cool. And I am happy for you. It always nice to hear from a person who is following their path and is rewarded for staying true.
