One policy we have on the list for that other artist some here say they barf about is that it's not nice to bash other artists. As a matter of fact it IS a policy not to do so. Why? Well, for one, it's not nice. Two, it is safe to say on most large or semi-large lists such as this that most musical artists out there likely have fans on this list. Bash that artist and someone here will take offense, as they like that artist. Each and every singer or group out there has fans whose booty they shake. Many of them are here on this list. Why can't we respect each others' right to like the music of the artists we choose and not cut that artist down? it's not a nice thing to do on many fronts. I don't think they sound well together at all...at least not with Emylou in the lead. And is that her singing on Truth #2 on Silverbell? Every time I listen to it, it sounds to me like whoever's singing with Patty is having sucha hard time keeping up with her... Why why why do they place the cursor _and_ the signature above the quoted text by default? This may be changeable in Outlook/OE, I stopped using them so long ago for my home email I just don't care, but if anyone can tell me how to get Notes to both quote properley (with a '>' or some other character) and put my fscking sig after the quoted text I'll be eternally grateful. m- - -- matt fotter http://www.fotter.com/ up 4 weeks 5 days 2 hours 7 minutes ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Apr 2002 21:05:15 -0700 From: "Darrel & Deanna" Subject: MM: Re: PattyG-News: First of the West Coast Dates!!! Patty is finally going to be in the other Portland, in thrilled! Sorry I don't usually use so many exclamations but I've been waiting for a long time for her to get anywhere close. Last time I had to suffer through the Dixie Chicks to see her (ok I actually kinda like the Dixie Chicks now that I've seen them but that is beside the point). The Aladdin Theater is a smallish venue with general admission seating but there are ways to get decent seating. See you there. As a matter of fact it IS a policy not to do so. uh....no one hipped me to the No Bash Jewel "Policy". Wanna hear what I think of Celine Deion? One of my new favorite Singers...Toni Price rips into Shania Twain in the "Austin Chronicle"....this is her quote. "......that Merle Haggard record with the Blaze Foley song, it's Haggard sounding his richest. Manly, strong, tender -- real country music. Singing about grown-up man themes, not the bad boy stuff. Here's Merle, this golden jewel. I'm sure he doesn't give a shit, but why is it not played on the radio? We're getting Shania Twain's twat. It's a travesty." (http://www.austinchronicle.com/issues/dispatch/2001-09-14/music_feature.html) It wasn't very "nice"....but very true and I don't think she was asking everyone (or anyone) to agree with her. If I get this straight...nobody says anything negative here on Mad Mission? Everybody kissing everybodys backside doesn't sound like a whole lotta fun to me......and really, if somebodys gonna get that hurt or offended because Jewel makes ME barf....well then I have a whole lot more of an effect on that persons life than I should. But what the heck...I can be as bubbly as the next guy...I mean person. Just for the record...the Jewel fans-8...the Anti-Jewelers-6. 3 or so undecided. That's my count anyway. hee hee Randy ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #162 *********************************
