Just elect to make a disc image on your hard drive first before burning instead of doing it "on the fly" (from your CD-ROM to your CD-RW drive). It just copies the disc as an exact image, no translation, no wav/mp3 stuff to mess with. Just copy the disc as whole. Lisa Zwick wrote: Well I wasn't talking about shows. I haven't burned any shows. The one show I attempted to record, I used a tape recorder, and altho the tape sounded fine, I couldn't get it clear on my computer. I'm talking about just copying a cd for myself or someone else...say Silverbell. What i do now is make them into mp3's first and then record to cd. Which is the same thing I would be doing if I d/led the mp3's off Audiogalaxy, but without the d/ling. I was jsut wondering if there's a way to do this without making the mp3's at all, and just copying the disc. Not necessarily shows. We may be talking about two totall different things here... - -Lisa Yahoo! No, you definitely do not want to make them into MP3 and then back out to CD. There are way too many steps with sound degredation in there along the way. You want to just make an image of the whole CD, then burn that on a blank CD. On my Linux system I do the following: # cdrdao read-cd --device 0,0,0 temp # cdrdao write --device 0,0,0 temp And a perfect copy is made. If you're using Windows perhaps look for some options in your CD burning software for "disk image" or similar wording. - -- Michael J. I just got done listening to Silver Bell for about the 1,000th time (Thank you a 1000 times to Dave from my wife Sandra and I) and suddenly it dawns on me that "Sooner or Later" is a top 40 hit no problem. What idiots. She gave them a commercial radio hit and they are so busy trying to figure out how to market the whole CD they missed it. Aaaaaahahahaha! F-ing brilliant. When we see shows at the Park West my wife and I like to get down there early so we can park (that has got to be the most inconvenient place to see a show...no parking and nowhere near the El). So we did that and were having dinner at a bar and grill across the street when who comes in for dinner but Patty! She sat at a table right across from us. I tried not to gawk. We actually ended up leaving about the same time and so I'm standing on a street corner waiting for the light to change, with Patty standing right next to me, and I can't think of single damn intelligent thing to say. So I didn't say anything. Ah well... She was great, can't seem to get the song out of my head. Conan seemed genuinely impressed with the performance. ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #150 *********************************
