Again, Patty's camp is trying to clear things up so that part comes first: >just so you know, the invited guests had tickets purchased by ato so the entire crowd was "paid". and, yes, unfortunately, we wanted to wait on the ato guests because they were mainly press folks who we very much hope will write lots of nice things about patty and help us to spread the word on how fantastic she is. i do feel badly for all our hard working, hardcore fans. i think we have all felt the sting of disappointment when a much anticipated evening just doesn't live up to our expectations. it especially sucks when you have been working your butt off for weeks to get the scratch together to go. we here in patty world try to do the best we can to balance things out, to make sure to take care of the fans and the industry folks. hopefully, the majority of folks will be okay. no matter what you do, you will never be able to make everyone happy. however, being the little people pleasers we are, we will keep trying. we are currently working on a version of elephant skin that is blended with teflon so harsh remarks won't penetrate or leave bruises. :) on to better things. patty was in nashville last night and sang "angel flying too close to the ground" with willie nelson for an upcoming television special featuring willie and lots of other special guests. others on the show included sheryl crow, emmylou harris, john hiatt, ryan adams, norah jones, keith richards, arron neville, dixie chicks and more. dave matthews was supposed to sing the number with patty but came down with a pretty bad case of something that makes you sound like a bullfrog. willie stepped in and took his place and the result was pretty magic. there are indeed two north carolina dates. may 4 in charlotte at great aunt stella with allison moorer, abra moore and tift merritt and then the diana wortham theatre in asheville on the 5th. we are working on the schedule for the west coast which will be for late may and june. we are also going to do "acoustic cafe" while in ann arbor on 4/22. more to come soon. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ AIM: traDMB http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~jcaputo ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V6 #139 *********************************
