Myself and my girlfriend were both bitterly disappointed to hear about the album fiasco. I heard the rumors but am glad to have them confirmed. Am I correct in assuming the album is Silver Bells? Speaking of which, I found a few MP3s from the album on Audiogalaxy and various web sites (Silver Bells, Standing, Truth, etc.) and they are phenomenal, as expected. I can't wait for the album! I have been trying to find some Patty bootlegs... does anyone on the list have a good quality bootleg they'd be willing to share? I will send CDRs and postage, or if MP3s are available I can burn a disc myself. Nice to meet you all, it is good to finally have a dependable news source on Patty. Don't listen to Gary (he should have been kicked off this list by now anyway.. LOL), there aren't too many of us "out there" as he says.. :-) To answer your question Greg.. no, the new CD will not be Silver Bell. Those scum suckers @ Interscope still hold the rights to the CD, and will probably only release that album (with all those beautiful songs) if it will help pad their thick wallets some more (i.e., if Patty becomes IMMENSELY famous). The new CD is tentatively entitled "1000 Kisses". Let's just hope ATO doesn't care if there is "radio friendly" material on it or not, since any genious has always known that Patty doesn't write songs to be "radio friendly" (WAKE UP already Interscope!!). Sorry If I seem a little bitter about this... for the newcomers to the list, someone help them out with a link to the full story about Patty leaving Interscope (those scum suckers.. LOL), and signing with ATO... Oh, and let's give a shout out to MY Canes for winning their 5th National Championship in quite EASY & convincing fashion last night! It's Great to be, a Miami Hurricane!!! Thank you for the info! As I said in my initial email, I found some MP3s from the album, which gives me hope that they are ALL out there somewhere. Does anyone have leads?? I think it is safe for the folks on this list to get the MP3s since we all would and will buy the album if given the chance... >Sorry If I seem a little bitter about this... for the newcomers to the list, >someone help them out with a link to the full story about Patty leaving >Interscope (those scum suckers.. LOL), and signing with ATO... Bitterness is very warranted in this situation. Patty is criminally under-appreciated and what Interscope did just plain stinks. As for the story, there is a recap of what happened with the scum suckers at http://www.nashvillerage.com/music/features/053101-griffin/ As for ATO, I haven't read anything on it beyond what was posted to the list by you kind folks, so if anyone has a URL I'd be most appreciative! I first heard her sing Mad Mission, played by Bob Harris on BBc radio 2. It was a while before I could get hold of the CD, but pretty soon I was captivated by LWG. A few weeks later I found out that she had supported Emmylou Harris at the Albert Hall, and I was at university 100 yards away at the time. The date of the Gig was my birthday! That was the last time to my knowledge that she played the UK. Nnnnaaaaargh! And I have to put up with Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman on the radio every five minutes! I wish we had radio stations like those in the USA in the UK. Oh' well, at least seeing Kate Rusby, Shawn Colvin and the Eagles kind(but not quite) of compensates for a lack of Griffin this side of the big water. Happy new year Y'all! It's strange bluegrassy, rootsy, I-don't-know-what, but I know I can't get enough of it. Sarah Harmer performs with them sometimes (though not on the album, as far as I can tell). (in my own mind at least.. LOL) Miranda Lee Richards.-- I saw her opening for Nikka Costa (another WOW) at the TLA in Philly a few weeks ago. I can best describe her music as sounding like a kind of 60's sounding (yet modern) folky-rock, with a very small touch of country, and a dash of a psychedelic 70's sound. It also has just absolutely beautiful layered instrumentation throughout the whole CD (which is called "The Herethereafter"). She's from San Francisco, and from what I've read was actually a model at one time but quit to pursue music, and then took guitar lessons from Kirk Hammett from Metallica (of all people). Quite an odd story, but true. Her voice is high, kind of fragile sounding but INCREDIBLY beautiful. Just to recap.. the CD is called "The Heretherafter". The Artists' name is Miranda Lee Richards. The CD is on Virgin records and is available at any decent establishment where they sell good music... Dave... over and out. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Jan 2002 00:06:44 EST From: OneMoreGirl24@aol.com Subject: MM: tracks of my tears Can anyone out there tell me the name of the musician that Patty sings "Tracks of my Tears" with?
