Review from next day's Pittsburgh Post gazette is exerpted below. Note that under a picture of Patty, was the caption: Patty Griffin had a great three-pack of songs for the show. And then there was the slight redhead who generated the "Wow! Who is this Patty Griffin?" buzz in the lobby. The least known of the performers may have had the evening's best three-pack of songs, with her passionate singing and the vivid worlds she sculpted in "Poor Man's House," "Makin' Pies" and "Mary," a powerful song about a grandmother she never knew.
