Just wondering where you get your information? - - Darren ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2001 16:18:53 EST From: EveryLittleBit@aol.com Subject: MM: Patty guitar up for auction I was bored today and searched on Yahoo! auctions for Patty Griffin. Lo and behold- quite an interesting find. Up for auction is a guitar that she painted. I'm not kidding. Did you even know she could paint? It's a custom Epiphone guitar with a red flower painted on the front( from what I can tell by the picture) and a woman on the back. The description of Patty with the auction ensures that it's our Patty- not some imposter! The opening bid is $500- and all profits go to "SIMS (Services Invested in Musicians' Support) a nonprofit organization founded and based in Austin, Texas offering low cost mental health services to the Austin music community." Sorry if anyone already mentioned this. I think it's pretty cool- I didn't know she was so multi-talented :). Any REALLY rabid collectors out there want it ? ;) Rachel :D ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2001 15:38:46 -0600 From: Laura Taylor Subject: MM: article on Silver Bell Thought everyone might wanna check this out if they haven't already seen it. http://www.auschron.com/issues/dispatch/2001-01-19/music_set13.html shawn colvin's new album is out tomorrow! - -lt ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2001 16:40:32 EST From: FlamingRed74@cs.com Subject: MM: Patty's paintings.. I believe she was mentioning what she does in her spare time, and said that she loves to paint. Someone from the crowd asked her "what kind of paintings do you do?" .. she just responded with .. "Patty Griffin paintings.. they're really nothing special", or something to that effect, then her usual cute/modest giggle. I had actually forgotten about this until Rachel's post though! Now, if I only had money to burn that guitar WOULD BE MINE!!! Patty Jean Rocks! I've never listened to it... actually, I didn't know UNH had a radio station (although I should have assumed they did) I hope they're good.. there really is a lack of good radio stations here. Even our local NPR station, which used to play classical music, went to all talk and lost a good portion of it's following. nikki At 03:01 PM 03/26/2001 -0700, Corey Atkins wrote: >I'm tellin' y'all, community radio is the only way to go.
