I was very half-heartedly and distractedly watching tonight's episode of the WB's "Jack & Jill" till the very end, when I sat up to attention as soon as Patty's clarion voice sang out "You are not alone..." for a couple of verses. It was a nice ending to a rather mundane show. -- Camille P.S. Thanks for the heads up on the free sampler. It made for a very nice early Christmas present. I was surprised I still got one since I sent for it pretty late in the month. :) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Jan 2001 14:59:59 From: "Matthew Hoppock" Subject: Re: MM: Interscope SUCKS we may need to prepare for more pushing back. If I remember right, the album that Juliana Hatfield was fighting over with interscope was never released, still has not been released...i think it was 1996 or 1997. She switched labels and has released 3 albums since...but they still won't release the 1997 album. Even though tons of fans write them daily urging them to release it... I'm not quite sure why (not economicaly viable), but there is a bit of a risk that interscope might not release silver bell at all. i'll start my interscope pestering campaign today. :) matthew - ----Original Message Follows---- From: FlamingRed74@cs.com To: mad-mission@smoe.org Subject: MM: Interscope SUCKS Date: Thu, 18 Jan 2001 00:51:12 EST MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: from [216.200.102.14] by hotmail.com (3.2) with ESMTP id MHotMailBC2FD1FC006F4004315AD8C8660EE4DB0; Wed Jan 17 22:03:59 2001 Received: from localhost (daemon@localhost)by smoe.org (8.8.7/8.8.7/listq-jane) with SMTP id AAA19122;Thu, 18 Jan 2001 00:52:49 - -0500 (EST) Received: by smoe.org (bulk_mailer v1.10); Thu, 18 Jan 2001 00:52:47 -0500 Received: (from majordom@localhost)by smoe.org (8.8.7/8.8.7/listq-jane) id AAA19069for mad-mission-outgoing; Thu, 18 Jan 2001 00:51:58 -0500 (EST) Received: from imo-r09.mx.aol.com (imo-r09.mx.aol.com [152.163.225.9]) by smoe.org (8.8.7/8.8.7/daemon-mode-jane) with ESMTP id AAA19056 for ; Thu, 18 Jan 2001 00:51:51 -0500 (EST) Received: from FlamingRed74@cs.com by imo-r09.mx.aol.com (mail_out_v29.5.) id p.f3.6ab2132 (4592) for ; Thu, 18 Jan 2001 00:51:12 -0500 (EST) >From owner-mad-mission@smoe.org Wed Jan 17 22:05:46 2001 Message-ID: X-Mailer: CompuServe 2000 32-bit sub 111 Sender: owner-mad-mission@smoe.org Precedence: bulk Hey guys, Ok.. I guess I don't really need to vent here, but here it goes.. Patty finished recording Silver Bell about this time last year. She did a "warm up" tour for the Silver Bell tour last April.. and now she's waited over half a year for the Cd to be released. Now.. she has to wait ANOTHER half year.. and who knows if they'll even release it then!? *HELLO Interscope, you guys SUCK*. I can't agree with Gary any more when he says LWG was recorded in an apartment somewhere & is the best acoustic CD he's ever heard. I realize this is not just an acoustic Cd, but like Gary says, we do NOT want "polished Patty". Part of the problem that most people had with Flaming Red was overproduction. This really worries me.. all these songs were PERFECT when she toured last year.. and messing with them is certainly not going to make them better. Ok, I think I need to say this again.. Interscope, I hate you I hate you I hate you I hate you.. you lousy pieces of DIRT! Stop dragging your stinking feet and release this CD that has been done for a year now!!! Don made a very good point when we first heard the rearranged version of "Perfect White Girls". She cut out the "If you kiss their asses long enough, they might let you kiss their asses", and he immediately knew it was the record company editing the song. I figured she just took out the verse herself, b/c I thought Patty would allow NOONE to tell her how to play one of her own songs.. Now I have to believe that what he said is probably true.. IF they changed a verse in a song, what the heck are they doing now with months of "changing things around"? Ahh.. ok, I'll stop now b/c I know this is not going to do any good (other than releasing stress).. LOL If it wouldn't hurt the artitsts on the label, I'd seriously be thinking about boycotting all Interscope albums from now on.. Does anyone have an email address for this god-forsaken company so I can write and harrass them?? I was looking as much forward to a Patty tour this spring as I was the Patty CD.. Rot in HE-double hockey sticks Interscope! Besides - I think it's been said by more than one member of this group that the true test of a "recording artist's" talent is how they sound live, sans fancy schmancy EQ-ing, etc. And I think we all KNOW Patty's voice don't need no help from any machine. While it's a small comfort that most label execs will end up in hell, roasting away to the sounds of John Tesh, Kenny G, and a montage of 7th grade choirs from around the world, it still doesn't fix the things they f*!@ up here on good ol' mama earth... - -CA _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Jan 2001 21:31:32 -0000 From: "Sarah" Subject: MM: Achievement and server down I'm still attempting to get the article for you all but the Music Country site where the article has been down for ages. I'll try again tomorrow. On another note I tried 3 stores in London when I was there for a costume fitting today and 1 of them had no Patty, one of them had a Patty area but no CD's and one actually had several copies of each CD. I was shocked!
