Stop...80s time. Okay, this may be a moot point here, but why go through all the trouble of making a tape saying FU to another person......when that whole tape will probably be thrown out after the first or second song anyway? However, off the top of my head, lets try to think about these brilliant songs here. NIN - "Head like a Hole" Life Sex and Death - "Fuckin Shit Ass" (although the chorus really carries a different message, I still like him kicking over stuff in the beginning of the song). Metallica - "Don't Tread on Me" Filter - "Hey Man Nice Shot" Drill - anything by Drill actually. She really does sound like a dolphin...I swear. But the songs I'm thinking of.. "Go To Hell" "I like You" "What you are" and "You suck" ought to do it. Of course, you can't do without the classic Phunk Junkeez - "People" Stanford Prison Experiment - "Take It" Hmmmm. What else? Oh, how about 1000 Mona Lisas "I'd Rather Die Than Have to Touch You" (although it might not be the same kind of f*ck off attitude you're looking for.) Wait a second. Hold on. There's this really cool disc. I can't remember...Hold on, I'll get it. Okay, I'm back. Yeah. The Smears. If you want some good wholesome sloppy riot grrrl punk rock, then nothing says "eat me" better than The Smears - "Not Fucking Happy" "I hope your happy" "Owed to Love" (where I've never heard anyone say "hate" as many times in one song.) All from the Like Hell CD Some other discs I brought back: Klover - "I wanna be" (kinda subtle message punk) "Brain" both from Feel Lucky Punk then there's Pulley. Contains members of Ten Foot Pole, Strung Out, and Scared Straight. I would choose "No Defense" off of Pulley's Esteem Driven Engine CD. And if you're more into the old school feel of punk...and who isn't?...then there's always The Sniveling Shits singing "Terminal Stupid"....or The Damned singing "Smash it up". However, if you're making this CD for more of a dirty "let's make love" kind of F*ck You, then I'd go with: Romeo Void - "Never say Never" Violent Femmes - "Add it Up" Lords of Acid?? - "Gorgeous" and "Sex on Wheels" NIN - "Closer" I'm sure there are some good rap songs on this, but I can't think of any at the moment, just a few Gangsta Rap songs that are mostly about sex and drugs and violence. Not really FU songs. shit. Now I gotta put all my CDs back up. gotta go. yay Oklahoma! paul ********************************* * Beauty is where you find it, * * not just where you bump and * * grind it. * * -- Madonna * * from "Vogue" * ********************************* _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 Jan 2001 11:26:33 -0700 From: "Corey Atkins" Subject: Re: MM: F@#$ You! And when she lets it RIP at the end with 'beee-aaaah-eee-aaaaah-eeee-aaah-it' (etc., etc.) - girl is pissed (I like to think of it as her 'yelling like a cat') Sheer, deeply felt, hurt and angry brilliance! - -CA ********************************** "Theatre is the poetry which rises from the page and becomes human." -F.G. Mix Ad Infinitum Hi, Thanks for all who have responded so far. I really do appreciate it!!! As for LouAnn's post, yes, I realize that this was brought up not too long ago. But, this is my work e-mail, so I can't keep all the messages that come in too long(I could, but User Services would hate me even more than they already do ) So, when it came time for me to do this, I couldn't just go back to the old posts. Don't mean to annoy anyone, just asking for help. Thanks again!! bryan - -----Original Message----- From: LouAnn Muhm [mailto:lmuhm@unitelc.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2001 7:37 PM To: mad-mission@smoe.org Subject: MM: F@#$ You! Mix Ad Infinitum ummmmmm......... Have we not covered this topic in enough depth the past three times it came up on this list? Seems that there were about 200 messages in this vein in my inbox about a month ago. Or is this just the most elaborate deja vu experience that I've had in awhile? Maybe we should take up "songs that make us feel good," and "favorite female artists"....or "just how evil is Evil Gary?" to complete the revisitation spiral. Mix Ad Infinitum Hey guys, Sorry I'm weighing in late on this, but I've been just a little bit under the weather lately.. As for angry songs, how about Patty's own "One More Girl"?? I can't believe noone has brought this up yet.. since she DOES intruduce this song at nearly every concert by saying "I got pissed one night, so I wrote this song". Mary Arden Collins also has a very good one simply called "Pissed" on her newest CD "Alone with the B Sides". You can check her out at Maryardencollins.com. She is from the Philly area, so if you haven't checked her out yet.. uhh, what are you waiting for!?!? Ok, my head is starting to hurt again so I think it's off to bed for a bit..
