Hi all, It's too late to "heads up" east coast US people, but the later time zones might still have a chance to catch Patty Griffin with EmmyLou Harris on the Today Show this morning singing a few songs together. They've done "My Baby Needs a Shepherd" and "Red Dirt Road" so far. Hope this helps some of you catch this. What a nice surprise! Hi folks :-) Mike the ol' list manager here. I soon plan to upgrade my "official" page for this list AND the "Welcome to Mad Mission" message each new subscriber gets, and I want to include any new links to web sites dealing with Patty that I do not presently have mentioned. So, if you have a web site dedicated to Patty and would like me to include it in the "Welcome to" message and on the lists' official page, please let me know. Also, if you know of a page and do not own it, you can send me that link also. Right now the only ones I have are Rachel Martins' two sites, Katie Petersons' tabs site, A&M Records, pattygriffin.com, Joe Zigmonts site , and Patty's entry at the Ectophiles' guide. It looks like Melissa has mp3's somewhere though, according to her website.. I haven't checked it out. Maybe she has a deal with an mp3 host and she gets paid for them? I think mp3's are a great way to get your music heard by people who otherwise wouldn't know who you are... *sigh* Lisa ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Dec 2000 03:12:32 -0000 From: "Paul Russell" Subject: MM: fargnogget sup. Is this like the weekend from hell or something? I check my email tonight and I find out that the one time (well for the past three weeks, really) I don't listen to A Prairie Home Companion that Ms. Griffin is on it. And I find out that Sessions was re-aired. And I find out Ms. Griffin was on the Today show....but since I don't watch TV that much anyway, those really don't count. I didn't even know the Today show is on Sunday mornings. When did that happen? But darn nabbit all to heck, I frickin listen to NPR all the live long day (like workin on the railroad, but less effort). Next thing you know, she'll be on Car Talk and I'll miss it because I was passed out or something. Well, at least I had a Scotch Old Fashioned yesterday. Not bad. But I was mixing a bit. Well, with the margaritas and the wine and the Scotch Old Fashioned, at least I was comforted during my time of missing Patty Griffin. ***************on another note*********** Well, the weekend started off pretty phat because I actually got that CD promo in the mail. Thank you very much, management people! I totally heart Silver Bell! It kicks it like Death Rock. Oh, and a word of advise. If you've got an old Lionel Train set sitting in your attic, don't think it will take "just a few minutes" to set up as part of Christmas decorations. How can I put this in words? Hmmmm. It was like sticking a low powered vacuum up to your brain and trying unsuccessfully to suck it out. Come on!! Take it!!! Suck it out!!! NOw!!What was I thinking????? The Sun came up....the Sun went down...there were still track parts in my hands, people. There was no better day than today to gulp down spiked eggnog. Oh, and maybe I should go vote for President today too. No wait. uh, too confusing. All those names on the ballot....why can't someone be allowed to sit there and TELL you who to vote for? IMSAO (in my sarcastic asshole opinion) It's frickin freezing in here, Mr. Bigglesworth. paul ********************************* * Beauty is where you find it, * * not just where you bump and * * grind it. * * -- Madonna * * from "Vogue" * ********************************* _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web.
