I haven't had much of a chance to write lately but I just wanted to share an experience with you. I talked to my mother last night and she had been hanging out at her house watching tv and stubbled upon Austin City Limits. She has been hearing me rave about Patty and Julie and Buddy Miller forever. She got to see them in action and was just blown away. She said there was nothing that could compare to the purity in their music. No band to alter the meaning of the song, just the artist and their instrument. She went on and on about it. I was very impressed. She went on to say that this bare boned approach compared to a full piece band was like the difference between a Shaker table and a French colonial table. I thought that was sort of funny. Anyway, she also loved Dave Matthews and Emmylou, of course she said, she'd already heard them before so Patty and Julie and Buddy were her favorites. So I was wondering if there was anyway to get a copy of this Austin City Limits, either through the T.V. station or through one of you kind folks who might have taped it. I hope everyone is enjoying their Holiday season:) Jenna Land - -10 cent wings, I'll take two. Hey all, Sorry for the delays but I had some serious problems getting all these cd's copied. I think I have all the kinks worked out and I'm ready to give it a run. Please be patient with me though....... For you newbies.....Love From My Lips is a collection of most of Patty's non-album tunes. At this time we are distributing the first two, which consist of originals that have never appeared on an album. Later we will distribute a cd of covers, duets, soundtrack songs, etc..... FYI, J-Cards will NOT be distributed by your branches. In order to save in costs we've made them downloadable. If you can't wait for the cd's you can download them now from www.johnfhiggins.com or from Jen Caputo's page (home of the MP3's) Do you have a link yet Jen???? There are some new tunes that were not on Rarities 1 or 2 and I believe the lyrics for those tunes can be found at Rachel's incredible lyrics archive. That is located here: The Patty Griffin Lyrics Archive So, if you're interested in a copy of this collection please send an e-mail to LoveFromMyLips@aol.com, including your name and location. Do NOT send an e-mail to this address. I will assign you a branch in a week or so, after everyone's had a chance to sign up. Take Care, Jen :) ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V4 #331 *********************************
