Hey all, 

I was in mellow mode at work today, I listened to LWG a couple of times and 
then popped in FR on my way home.  Now as you may rememnber i've only been 
tuned into Patty for about a month now and the Kickin drum intro on FR just 
made my jaw drop. 

I am hyponotized by the beauty of both CDs but i just had to start laughing 
when I thought about the look everyone on the list must have had on their 
face when after a solid 2 yrs of the quiet LWG when they put FR into the deck 
and hit play.  

Did you all think the record company had put the wrong disk in the case or 
what? 

Also I just realized after carefully looking at the pics on both CDs that I 
had the opportunity to meet Patty after the first Chicks show in Anaheim 
twice but didnt realize that it was her (along with the rest of the chicks 
fans) standing next to her bus for a long time, TWICE.  Remember I had just 
gotten into Patty about a week before the show and hadn't really even looked 
at the cD covers because I just wanted to hear the music for a while.  I 
didn't even go to the concert, I was in CA on business and had taken my 
guitar up there after the show to try and meet Patty and the Chicks to see if 
they'd sign my guitar (and of course give them all a demo tape).

Now the Chicks are coming in August to Louisville KY w/o Patty, my guitar is 
still unsigned and I feel like the most clueless person in the entire world!

I hate to burst your bubble, but they were talking about Patti 
Scialfa, Bruce's wife. The text in question reads:

"Other vocalists included Dave Matthews, with whom Harris first sang 
at a Johnny Cash tribute in New York last year and then while taping 
an episode of "Austin City Limits" in January; and Patti Scialfa of 
the E Street Band, with husband Bruce Springsteen spontaneously 
joining in.

"I've always been a huge fan of Patti's -- she's an untapped 
singer/songwriter of great ability -- and I'm obviously a fan of 
Bruce's. Who isn't?" Harris says. "I thought her voice would be 
perfect on the song Malcolm and I had just cut ["Tragedy"]. They were 
playing in New Orleans and had the next day off and graciously came 
over. While Patti and I were working on the part, Bruce just started 
spontaneously singing a third part, so it turned out as a duet with 
Patti and me, and Bruce coming in at the end."

Patty (with a y) Griffin was mentioned in the paragraph preceding 
that passage. I would love to see Patty play with Bruce, but I don't 
think it has happened yet. Maybe this year is the year!
