I know many MMr's would be mighty unhappy if anything were to happen to you. Personally I think Ms. Sheryl has a fine voice, but I simply don't see the comparison to Patty--I've had moments where I heard a bit o Bonnie Raitt on a Shawn Colvin record (really it's there! Try her folkish tracks on "Fat City") or mixed up Sarah Slean and Tori Amos (sometimes it's uncanny--now don't get bristly all you Happy Phantoms) but I have never ever ever confused the pipes of Patty with anyone. And hey Paul, I think I may have your ticket to ride...one of my best pals' brother is a Crow roadie...I hear them wedding bells now! I'll take a black and tan meself. You're killing me. Did you just make fun of my fiance'...uh, ex fiance'? I liked Ms. Sheryl Crow alright for a while until one night a few years ago I was flipping through the channels and there she was in all her glory on Austin City Limits. What amazed me is that she sounded like she was going hoarse at the end of the show, yet she was STILL hitting those notes beautifully. And that was it, I had to marry her....until Laetitia Casta came along. And Don!! You are the mac daddy! The internet dude! Those reviews are fab. Well, not all great towards Ms. Griffin, but just the fact that you're finding them and pasting them is gooder than good. I'd be surprised at these reviews being incredibly positive on Ms. Griffin's side just because the reviewer is a country music fan going to see the Dixie chicks...or wondering why Ricky Scaggs or Willie Nelson isn't opening for the Chickies in THEIR arena. There's gonna be some bias, but it was funny to read that one review say "it was a stripped down version of 'let him fly'." Oh really? how could it be more stripped than the accoustic version on "living with ghosts?" Take the guitar out or something? Funnay stuff. And did I read that review right? Patty Griffin and Sheryl Crow are friends???? Do you think Ms. Griffin could introduce me or something? Imagine, me with Patty Griffin on one side, Sheryl Crow on the other side, and three pints of Guinness in front of me. And what if they were singing a duet...just for me. (Sheryl and Patty, not the beer.) God, take me then because it wouldn't get any better than that. But now I'm going to finish work here, then have a few drinks for poor Sheryl Crow being tortured by Meghan. Imagine...me, finishing up my post early. :P paul *********************************** * Don't ask me 'Hank, why do you * * drink.' and 'Hank, why do you * * roll smoke.
