[NeuroticView@aol.com] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 3 Jun 2000 19:32:28 -0700 From: "Marc Hertz" Subject: MM: From the mouth of a Chick Here's what Martie Seidel had to say about why they chose Patty to open for them: As for Griffin's participation, Martie claims Patty was picked out of a clear love for her music. "It's very rare that I come across a CD that I just wear out, and I've worn her record [Flaming Red] out. All three of us have. It's probably a selfish endeavor because we just admire her so much, and we don't think she's gotten the exposure she deserves," Martie says. "If I have a fan come up to me and ask, 'What do you listen to?', I would say 'Go out and buy Flaming Red.' I really believe that our fans are an extension of us in a lot of ways, and they come to our shows because we are doing what we like, so maybe they'll like what we like, too." If you want to check out the rest of her discussion, it's at http://www.musiccountry.com/story.asp?catid=3D5&filename=3Dmarty3 Looking forward to seeing Patty twice in three days!! Given the Chicks' penchant for choosing warmup acts with style and attitude, Griffin, dressed casually in a muscle shirt bearing the word, Memphis from which a black bra strap fell, fit the bill. And Griffin was every bit appreciative, dedicating the final song of her 40-minute set, Mary, to "the girls." Backed by a four-piece band, the singer-songwriter also treated the crowd to songs from her two previously released discs and a few from her forthcoming album. (Griffin recently completed her third CD in New Orleans which will tentatively be released on the A&M label in the fall)." - -Misty ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 04 Jun 2000 22:03:40 -0500 From: "LouAnn Muhm" Subject: Re: MM: Re: Ageless Right on Greg! 1963 is the year all the best people were born--and I just barely made it into that elite group! Where to start, where to start? I believe 'Century Ends' and 'White Ladder' are his most impressive. White Ladder being the most recent, and Century Ends , being his first. At least I was able to narrow it down for you? >smile< Matt ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V4 #155 *********************************
