I am very happy teens have found Patty and welcome them. I just did not want to be the only adult on the list. LOL I was just checking. Anyway anyone who knows me around here knows I like to have a little fun from time to time. If I insulted anyone, please accept my apology. Going to see David Gray in back to back shows tonight and at the Apple Fest. tomorrow. Martin Sexton is going to be at the Fest. as well. If you every get a chance to see these guys do so. Have not seen Patty in four months. I think this is the longest between Patty shows for me in three years. My best to all. If you don't want to be here - maybe you should leave. But don't complain about it. Obliviously, we all have the best taste in music. Why people have to become so mean on here, I do not know..... Could I pipe in with... "boy oh boy does she ever cover them Beautifully!" Gary, if it's been 4 months since your last Patty concert (I know the feeling, but it's only been about 4 weeks for me)... you should definitely check Darcie out! She was actually in Philly earlier this week, I should have posted to let you know. At her show last week she not only played Patty songs that Patty plays, but she played Patty songs that we'll NEVER hear Patty play, things off Rarities like Cat's Out of The Bag, I Write the Book, etc.. You guys (the long time MMer's) all know my picky standards for music, and especially Patty's music. I wouldn't be plugging Darcie's music, and her Patty coveres if she was not simply amazing. For all of you that have not yet checked out darcieminer.com I am hereby instructing you to do so before you leave your computer today! Yes, she is "only a 16 year old girl", but you would swear you were listening to an angel when you hear her voice. Make sure to check out the tour dates section for any shows near you (if you live in PA, or nearby PA that is), she seems to be covering most of the state over the next few months. On a Patty note... I just thought I'd mention that Don (fellow MMer and frequent poster) drove from Pittsburgh, PA to Winnepeg, Canada earlier this week to catch Patty opening for the Dixie Chicks on the 1st night of the tour. He was then driving from there to San Francisco (home of my beloved Giants) to see her play her headlining show there. Let's all wish for his safe travelling, and happy Patty listening! He'll be back on around the 20th to report to us how amazing Patty was! Have a great weekend, Dave ***************************************************************** May you dream you are dreaming, in a warm soft bed And may the voices inside you that fill you with dread Make the sound of thousands of angels instead Tonight where you might be laying your head ~~ Patty Griffin ~~ **************************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Jun 2000 13:11:53 EDT From: NeuroticView@aol.com Subject: MM: Darcie I recently went and visited your website. The idea of a 16 year old singer, I could not wait to hear your voice. I downloaded the mp3 of 'My Angel' and I feel in love with the spirit you express through your music. I am going to have to send away for your cd. Is that still possible? And, is it still to Rogue Store Entertainment. .etc, etc. ? I just checked out Darcie's webpage and I am totally in awe. I am a 19 year old singer/(half ass)songwriter and I totally admire this girl. I can only hope to accomplish what she has. After reading her list of influences I was like "Man, I've gotta hear this girl!" Darcie, you've got a great taste in music and you've got a great talent and I'm so glad that you have decided to share that with the world! I'm sorry, but I had to tell ya. Keep on rockin, woman! The Dixie Chicks can breathe easy today after completing their first big time headlining show in Winnipeg, Canada last night in front of nearly 13,000 fans. "Holy Crap!" shouted Natalie Maines, shortly after taking the stage and pausing the show to take in the big crowd that came to see them. The show kicked off at exactly 7:30 with a fine 8 song rock set by opener Patty Griffin. (Griffin joined the Chicks later to sing the song "Let Him Fly" with them which she wrote). jacqui P.S. i'm 30! =) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 02 Jun 2000 08:08:11 -0700 From: plpalmer@ix.netcom.com Subject: MM: (non Patty)Looking for Jerry Zigmont Is Jerry Zigmont still on this list?
