The Somerville Theatre provides great acoustic. It is a very old restored movie house that now showcases lost of great music shows. The theatre is in Davis Square in Somerville, MA (right near Boston). It's simple called "The Somerville Theatre".....and that show was a double-bill with Ellis Paul. I got chills the minute Patty opened her mouth to duet on Ellis Paul's "Conversations With A Ghost". And also when she sang her "new" song "Go Now" .....just amazing! It was a great show. You can catch Ellis Paul's part of that show on his new live double cd. Most of those songs were recorded at the Somerville Theatre show....and it does include Patty on "Conversations With A Ghost" and at least one other song with Paul. - -Denise C. That was a wonderful concert, I think the 3rd time I saw Patty, also the first day I met Elaine, MMer, concert buddy,- one of our many concerts together over a two year period. A bunch of us MMers met at a pizza place down the street before the concert. We sat up in the front of the balcony- and the old theatre was packed, sold out. It really is very charming- I don't know how old it is, but it has the air of early 1900s. Patty was so cool- hair extensions I guess down her back- very ladylike that night. She did a very low key backup for Ellis Paul- not stealing the stage at all, just into his songs- the audience was hers anyway- wanted her back, but we had to wait. She told us about a photo shoot and her red shoes for her new album- when she did Christina, you could hear a pin drop. She has a good following in Boston, no matter what she said about Boston at the Ark! I have a boot of the show but don't have any other info on the theatre - does anyone know where it is? A correct/complete name of the theatre or anything else? Thanks for your help, Jen P.S. I haven't uploaded an mp3 yet this week cause i've been busy with a calc exam but look for it tomorrow evening. I'm still trying to decide what I want to put up for this week as most of the requests have been filled. Let me know if you have suggestions. http://63.65.13.167/pattygriffin/mp3s/pmp3.htm The Patty Griffin mp3 of the week site http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~jcaputo/Patty.html Patty Griffin Concert Photo Archive - --part1_94.505aac6.26658750_boundary-- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 May 2000 00:47:42 -0400 (EDT) From: BLUEHEN@webtv.net Subject: MM: NPC: Appel Farm I was just wondering, since everyone on this list has such fabulous taste in music, if anyone was going to the Appel Farm Music Festival this Sat. in Elmer NJ? Jonatha Brooke, Jeffrey Gaines, David Gray, Willy Porter, Richard Thompson, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Moxy Fruvous, Greg Brown.....the only addition that would make it PERFECT would be Miss Griffin herself.....
