Schmitics! Hey everyone... I was looking through the Entertainment Weekly website... and found this review of "Living With Ghosts." I know it's irrelevant now, but this reviewer is off his/her rocker! "More pleasant than powerful"??? I think the things that stand out on LWG are Patty's powerful vocals, not to mention, powerful emotions, powerful lyrics!!! I usually agree with EW, but not here. Plus, I've never thought Patty sounded like Rickie Lee Jones. What do you all think? (Again, sorry for digging this up, I just couldn't believe my eyes.) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ May 31, 1996 Music Pop/Rock LIVING WITH GHOSTS Review by Nisid Hajari PATTY GRIFFIN Living With Ghosts (A&M) If earnestness is the bane of the unplugged artist, this 31-year-old Bostonian shows promise simply in dodging that first obstacle. But her heartbroken (naturally) lyrics and Rickie Lee Jones vocals only slightly tweak the familiar girl-with-guitar scenario, producing a debut that's more pleasant than powerful.
