But I do more than my fair share of buying CDs. Just ask amazon.com, lol! I am finding some incredible stuff out there-acoustic, live and rare stuff, including Patty. I just downloaded live acoustic w/keyboards and percussion versions of Tony and One Big Love. Awesome! Plus, I got a download of the Emmylou and Patty song, Beyond the Blue (also known as Where the Heart is). I never heard of it until the other day, when I was on the KPIG web site (a really cool, eclectic Santa Cruz area radio station). They had it on this week's Prime Cuts list. Patty is figured prominently in this song. And to top it all off, I found THE most bizarre version of Every Little bit, not sung by Patty, but by a......how do I describe it......hmmm......a doo-wop/acapella group. The labeling for the song isn't clear. It just says "off the beat-Patty Griffin" If anyone knows the origins of that one, let me know! Also found some great Aimee Mann stuff, both live and rare studio, including Jimmy Hoffa Jokes and a cover version of Nobody Does it Better. Meanwhile I shall keep pursuing those ever elusive and rare Patty tracks, and thank the Lord above for my cable modem! ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V4 #136 *********************************
