They have two cd's out...one is Consequences of Speech (the one we bought at the show)and Three Good Reasons. There are 3 of them, 2 women and 1 man and they have wonderful harmonies and play a slew of cool instruments. They're from the Chicago area, i guess and just seem like really cool people. I am absolutely in love with 'One More Girl' too!!!! It just seems like we've all felt that way at one time or another, ya know? sigh. as for the songs on album 3, i just assumed the ones that she said were new songs would probably end up on it....but i know that isn't always the way it works. But i was figuring "Top of the World" (i really hope so...this one is perfect), "Making Pies," "Boston," "Mother of God," "Night," "Truth #2" .... hmm, maybe "Silver Bell" will make it on this album too?? you think? she's been playing it an awful lot.... does anyone know if this album will be acoustic like LWG or electric like FR or a mixture of the two? I don't recall hearing anything about that... okay, i'm sure you're all sick of me posting ... (Boston) Actually I heard her say that Boston was from an unreleased album that maybe someone would find interest in. She said maybe it would resurface someday, but I took that to mean that it wasn't gonna make the cut. Otherwise, I would love to hear all the other ones, and I hope she intertwines the acoustic in with the band stuff this time, sorta like the Indigo Girls do... not so electric and mechanical. > as for the songs on album 3, i just assumed the ones that she said > were new > songs would probably end up on it....but i know that isn't always the > way it > works. I'm just going to make guesses from the various shows I've been to over the last few months.. I'm just listing songs that I've either heard her say were recorded for the new CD, or that I've heard her playing lately and I don't recall her playing them before. Little God (PLEASE Lord let it be on there!) Top of the World Perfect White Girls (Killer bluesy guitar riff at the beginning.. go Patty!) Making Pies Boston Mother of God (piano) Night (piano) Truth #2 (A.K.A. Swing Me South) Silver Bell There is another song that she played in New Hampshire a few weeks ago, something about driving. It's not Twisted Road, it's a new song. I wasn't able to get an exact title, but if I had to guess. that one would be on there as well! She also played a song at the Fez that I'm guessing is entitiled "Sorry and Sad". I really don't know if this is a song of hers, or a cover b/c she didn't specify. I don't know it if it IS in fact a cover, so that one may be on the new CD as well. As far as I know, the new CD is being produced by Craig Ross and Jay Joyce. My understanding is that the bulk of the material will be with the band. Some of the songs she's been playing live though, sound like they could go over well solo.. so there may also be some solo songs on there. **Please take into account that these are ONLY the views of Dave, and should not be taken as THE exact track listing. My ideas DO NOT reflect those of Polygram Records, Patty's management, or Patty Jean Griffin herself. I'm just a huge fan, who knows way too much, and thinks way too much about Patty Griffin** :-) It was really nice meeting Sonja, John, Sarah (annoying girl who posts WAY Too Much)!, Katie, and Jen at the Michigan shows! Michigan seems to be full of very cool people.. :-) You should be proud of yourselves..
