This studio has been used a lot in the recent past by Emmylou Harris, and considering Patty's past and upcoming gigs with Emmylou in the same lineup, I would think this is a possible indication that Emmylou will again be involved with Pattys new CD just as she was on a few tracks of Flaming Red. I also wonder if Lanois is involved with the recording sessions. He produced or co-produced U2's "The Joshua Tree", Peter Gabriel's "So", Bob Dylan's "Oh, Mercy" and U2's "Achtung, Baby among others. More recently, he worked with Emmylou Harris to make the Wrecking Ball, part of which was recorded at Kingsway Studios. Basically, Patty chalked the band being louder to her up to the fact that she was usually the opening act, playing at a festival, etc., and ususally didn't have a good soundcheck. She seemed quite adament about it. I remember this quote quite clearly, "It's something most people just don't understand". So if Patty ever headlines with her band, and we still can't hear her.... Who knows? *waves at Misty* I saw you got some questions answered last night too! Over and over she said, I don't know...THAT MAY VERY WELL MEAN SHE DOESN'T KNOW! OR BUGGER OFF, YOU'LL FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH! It really interrupted a wholistic access to her....damn, I know we are all awaiting Patty's new album, but it isn't going to arrive with anymore speed if you keep inquiring about it! It'll come out, and you'll buy it, or you won't.... Yes, I was glad to be a part of her little virtual interaction--she is the Patty Goddess--possibly I had the idea that she was a bit more accessible than what the reality of the situation presented--of course, such is MY projection, and I am not in her position, though, maybe, someday, the whimsical artist in me perpetuates the desire to be so..... There's been a lot of chatter on the list, some of it tongue in cheek, about her sexual orientation. Last I hear, she was livin' w/a fellow (boy) musician somewhere off 6th Street in Austin (soon to be my new home!) Thus, she is NOT gay. Let's put these rumors to rest. Sure, there are those of us on the list who would like to claim her for our own, but sadly for my fellow sapphic sisters, Patty bats right handed... A new CD? I am breathlessly waiting. Let's hope that means more touring, too! Wow... I knew we had a great music scene here, including some good recording studios, but this is surprising. I haven't heard of her playing anywhere in town, but maybe I should go make the rounds down in the quarter to see if she "pops in" anywhere. Other big-time acts do that routinely when they're here. __________________________________________________________________ __ _ _ _ |__ |_| | _ | | Ergo [L., therefore.] A word used to mark |__ | \ |_| |_| the conclusion of a syllogism. - OED 2d Ed. http://www.io.com/~ergo ergo@io.com ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V4 #44 ********************************
