Hi all. I'm on a Lindsey Buckingham mailing list, and they asked this question, so I thought, I'll ask everyone here 'cuz I think it's interesting: If you could sing (assuming you can,) ANY song of hers with the great Patty herself, what would it be? Mine, is probably "Mary." Only because I LOVE singing Emmylou's part, and ones I just make up. Or "I write the Book," in a longer, bluesy-er way, 'cuz it would be cool to really get INTO it on that one...yeah man. ......((*.*))..................DARCIE................... http://www.darcieminer.com "i'll be king... when dogs get wings..." - tom petty '94 - -------------------------------------------------------- Get your free DellMail address at http://www.dellnet.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jan 2000 23:00:14 -0500 From: "where ma girls at?" Subject: MM: Re: what song??? > If you could sing (assuming you can,) ANY song of hers with the great Patty herself, > what would it be? I'm sure it seems really cliche and all.....and I do have more than just the LWG cd, but I would *so* do either "Poor Man's House" or "Moses" - those songs are just so moving to me. Gosh, but of course, they're all moving....sigh. I dunno....I was talking with my ex-boyfriend (we were still together at the time) about "Poor Man's House" and he described it perfectly to me. He said that the song is so special to him it is even "holy" That was such a good word for it - no matter what your religious beliefs (haha). He even said that he can't listen to it very often b/c it does mean so much - he wouldn't want it to become overplayed and become desensitized to it's meaning and depth. "Moses" to me is just such a reflection of life (at least mine!) and the vocals are so amazing.... wow...i'm pretty much a lurker on this list....but i'm in a talkative mood tonight... :) Peace. I would have to go with Big Daddy...Nah, just kidding.. I DO sing along to that one though.... Patty sounds WAY sexier than I though, I must say.. :-) Hmm, this is an interesting question b/c I find myself singing along to every single Patty song, some with more intensity than others. I would have to go with either Change, or We Are Water. When I am hearing those songs at that almost forbidden volume level, it is AWESOME. I almost lose myself, and when I'm driving down the road at that particular time, that's not necessarily a good thing... Which brings up another potential topic... should listening to Patty while driving be outlawed? It could be like DUPI (Driving under Patty's influence). They are talking about making talking on the phone illegal while driving, which I have to admit is a good idea with all the crazy stuff that happens when people aren't even distracted.... We ALL know that listening to Patty is SO MUCH more distracting than a senseless phone call to a loved one. :-) Take care, Dave ********************************************************** Faster, Faster I'm a trashy motorcycle beauty The road is all I've ever known Faster, Faster I'm the star in this disaster movie And in the end I ride alone ~~ Bree Sharp ~~ <~~ STILL the object of Dave's affection *********************************************************** ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V4 #2 *******************************
