Played a song called "Sorry and Sad"? Never heard before must be new great tune! Makin Pies, Change, Perfect White Girls, PETER PAN and a new piano tune I'll call NIGHT great lycs...that was a nice surprise. Tonite she wore her black leather jack cool tight brown pants black shirt hair up...HOT....Also sang Flaming Red, and YOU ARE NOT ALONE, FORGIVENESS, POOR MANS HOUSE, AND MOSES....YES YES YES!!!!!!!!Moses sounded absolutely amazing...she was totally into it...I have to say though she was having a bit of trouble with Forgiveness vocally. Shied away from a few high notes. Similiar with the belting in Red and Change.....I think her voice is a bit tired. My friend noticed it immediatley. The last time he saw her was over 2 years ago..... She sounds AMAZING I'm just nitpicking because I've seen her so many times and never noticed those problems even when she's had a cold...Anyway to continue with the set list...she played Boston again it's a great song the lycs on the lyc page are a little off I think it's"some things try and try and they never fly...." What a great line....Top of the World (dead man's tune) One More Girl, Twisted Road, Little God, Mary, and Tomorrow Night. I think I got them all....wait and that new song "Swing me way down south, sing to me something brave from your mouth..." That is my favorite song right now. Anyway that's the update...She also said she's hoping to have the album finished next summer but that it will be done when it is done. That's it for now.... I went to the show Monday night at The Fez. Patty was so amazing!!! I loved every little bit :) of the new stuff. I was in awe. She did some good numbers of others too. For instance, she did a song by Bruce Springsteen and one that Bob Dylan sang (but did not write)---this one was especially beautiful. I just can't put to words how great the entire concert was. If anyone bootlegged it I would do anything to get a copy. Michelle-NYU ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Nov 1999 15:58:21 -0500 From: "Rice, Matt" Subject: MM: Bob Dylan cover? Does anyone know what Bob Dylan song Patty has been covering? Anyone think that maybe she was hit with the "NEVER ENDING FLU" that's been going around this year? Really, I'm not kidding--whatever the hell is going around--it's bad and it's hitting everyone. I'm finally over it, but it took two months to get it completely out of my system. Starts out as a flu, then leaves you with a dry, hacking cough--bronchitis. Most people who don't take care of themselves during a cold or who smoke, can develop bronchitis, but I'm telling you, everyone I know has ended up with the same lingering, hacking cough. Thought my ribs were cracked they hurt so bad from coughing. I've never heard of a bronchitis strain. Anyway, I just can't imagine her voice being tired. I think she did it when I saw her at The Fez in April, but it's not a Dylan penned song, just a song he performed and/or recorded. Unfortunately I don't remember the song title either. Looks like I missed an awesome show at The Fez this week. I should have gone; I'm just a subway ride away! Oh well, saw her Saturday at the Keswick... This, I imagine, was her explanation as to why she wasn't in top form. I thought she sounded great, for what it's worth. In fact, I thought she got stronger as her set went on. The audience seemed behind her - "I can't believe you're all so polite - I'm just the opening act!" - she said once during her set. :-) I was with my sister who had never seen Patty before and who is a new Patty "recruit" thanks to yours truly. She said she'd never been so moved by a performer for as long as she could remember. I couldn't have said it better... When I saw her in Cincy opening for Lucinda Williams, she kept saying what an honor it was to be opening for her and what a great show we were in for. Finally, someone in the audience yelled out "You're f***ing great, too!" Was that anyone on this list?
