[ruby maroon > Heh... it really said that in the article? He must not have listened to the song then. Mary Magdalene wasn't Jesus's mother- she was another woman who was a sinner that Jesus saved. Look- When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. (Mark 16:9) Mary Magdalene is the one that movies speculate Jesus was in love/lust with. Wow... that gives me a whole different view of the song ;) Rachel :D ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "Never underestimate the power of a mouse She turns into a tiger when you leave her out the house" ~Patty Griffin The Patty Griffin Lyrics Archive ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Nov 1999 07:29:58 -0800 (PST) From: Fab Gal in DC Subject: MM: Bette does Patte Yes, it's true: Bette has been singing Patte, er, Patty's song "Mary" during her tour. She sang it here in D.C. last month and always prefaces it with an anecdote about her kids. - -Wendy J. - --- "k.c." wrote: > hey guys.....this has got to be Patty's > "Mary".....tell me it is.... > > this is from a local reporter who saw bette > perform in detroit recently.... > > mostly snipped........ > > ".....she worked up a song about Mary Magdalene > worthy of church." > > i remember some ppl saying that bette was doing > Mary in concert. > > too cool! :o) > > > > > ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi I just wanted to send you an email to let you know this. The 110 minute tapes and the 120 minute tapes are thinner than a 60 minute tape or even a 90 minute tape. I broke my first Rarities tape cuz I was a little hard on it, rewinding and fastforwarding alot. So they should be fine, but just be careful with them, they a little delicate. Thanks, Ruby ===== "Did she make you cry.. Make you break down.. I was hoping for 2 more volunteers to make 12- 1 for each month, but I guess Nov and Dec birthday people can just pick one of the other months- Each branch can realistically only make just so many CD's, so it will have to be as each branch feels they can handle it. First come, first served, etc. We don't know how many of the MM list members will want it on CD, but it could possibly be all of them- a scary thought! If any more of you would be willing to be CD branches, please let us know!!!! So, I am letting you know about the opportunity- contact the name first with your birthday month, to try to self sort a little. If that person cannot do it for you, feel free to contact any name on the list. Make your own arrangements for exchanging blank CD's, mailers and postage costs. The branches may prefer that you send them 3-4 blank 74 min Cd's to allow for the possibility that they may not necessarily burn ok- they can return any unused or no good Cd's to you-. The idea is that we don't want it to end up costing these volunteers to do us this huge favor altho they are doing this at cost- no profit as a matter of honor, of course. You need to include a SASE {preferably bubble pak mailer} and return postage. The CD liners are still up in the air- One branch person may be designing one for us- The branch people now have one designed by Masaki that can be copied at a printing shop- If you wish to have those CD liners, you would need to chip in about $2 per set to cover printing costs of about $1 per page- 1 page per Cd liner- Some branch people may prefer to just have leaves send along the costs instead of mailing Cds & postage back and forth. That is fine. The Rarities 1 set includes 2 x74 min Cd-s. Patty's set at the Sedona '98 concert is included. Reminder- these Cd's are only a volunteer effort to share Patty's music with her fans- NEVER EVER to be sold. Enjoy!
